lets see how long it is before it gets adapted to the smart phone, might sound inconceivable but some of the technologies we use today are an adaption of either old technology re-invented or taken from the idea's of imaginaries as far back as the 60's and 70's. Even George Lucas in his Stsrwars saga suggested the idea of holographic communication.
Wow this takes me back. But if I remeber right unlike most games it doesnt run throught demo's while not in use, you gotta pay just to see it work. Thought that was chincy at the time being a broke ass 13 year old.
I live in Kansas and remember seeing this at the 'Hiper-Mart' on Wanamaker road when I was very little. Looked neat but for the time, was over priced for one play. So I never really gave it a chance and instead played something different.
@bottlecapbill19 I live in Argentina and I remember when I played with people piled up behind me, was very good at playing this game for its time was amazing this video game.
@Natural8o8Reborn I totally remember playing this game! I think the only reason it "failed" was because of the price. Bring it back and develop more! It was ahead of it's time and it really DID look like the were holograms. I remember passing my hand "thru" the characters when I went there and marveling at it. :-)
At 1:00 in the video you can see a prototype Time Traveler arcade machine, with LED display embedded in the top (white) part of the cabinet. The wooden block around the game projected video are also in a different combination with respect to the final arcade released version of the game.
Criminy, I recall seeing this thing at an arcade a now defunct shopping center in Cupertino, CA. At the tender age of eight, I I always had some desire to play this, but always wasted them on the Neo Geo/SNk games, and when I finally got around to it, I felt but two tokens in my pocket, and groaned.
Such a horrible fucking game. I hated how unresponsive the controls were. It was almost surreal to see the cowboy who had to have the absolute WORST reflexes known to man, in real size form.
Nice I remember seeing that in person at the local fair in like 92 and it was crazy. You have to see it in person because the screen looks like its horizontal and the characters stand up out of the screen it really does look like a 3D hologram.
yup. 3 quarters was like a million to a young lad.

yeah, this game looked great, gameplay was awful though, it was sorta like a bad dragon's lair in hologram.

Does this woman look like she has a 1990s haircut?

This was not 1991! I remember seeing this in 1987.

@WillsTube1
This is indeed 1991. They showed the Simpsons game in this piece as well. That wasn't out in 1987

The only thing that kept me from playing this game was that it was too damned expensive.

From the looks of it, I don't see what is so special about it but I suppose in 1991 that wasn't the case...

I was actually one of the actors in this game. I have the news report I was in on my channel.

it did. however Sega canned the hologram concept after 1992's Holosseum (which ran on System 32 hardware) tanked
