It eventually became bloated. I poked it with a stick and the fur slipped off cleanly. It resembled the the animal in this video.
No monster - just a decomposing mammal that was washed up on shore.

LISTEN UP.If You look closely you can see the "beak" has a hole in it for breathing,just like a bird.theres cloth,not skin,wrapped around it's ,wrist maybe.It has a "hand",not a paw.That kicks away the raccoon theory and the water rat theory.I don't know about you ,but I don't see no canines.It might be a predator,who knows.I don't see any ears and the tale is long so that scratches off the bulldog theory.You ppl are just gonna have to deal with the fact that it probably ain't real.

that ain't no raccoon. the raccoon pic and the pic o the bloated thing show the bloated thing is bigger so it cant be a raccoon.that is a beak,not a mussel and i don't care what you say ,YOU CAN'T EAT BONE,so your accusation is wrong. You have to have other pics of the same "animal"to say what it is. i think its been done on purpose! sick people have been killing poor racoons, shaves them and then throws them near Montauk
have u heard that the first people who see them take photos and then take the body but don't give it to scientists or police if that was me id take 'it' to a scientist for DNA tests but im still convinced that its not a mussel but a beak cos if it was a mussel it would have a large hole at the tip for breathing like on a dog or cat

Look at the skull of a raccoon or small dog. The muzzle bears no resemblance to the shape of the bone or 'beak'. A muzzle is not this curved. I'm a skeptic myself, I don't believe in the chupacabra or jersey devil or any of that, but this is not a raccoon or dog.

judging by those pictures it deffo seems to be a racoon although the body looks a bit big to be one i guess bloating could have caused that.
it appears someone tied its 2 front feet up with some cloth though which leads me to believe some sick fucker abused a racoon and drowned it

looks more like a bear to me but look at the mouth it is a beak ive seen racooon skeletons and they look nothing like that. racoon mouths are not pointed and curved downward.
