I also have an Epi LP Custom that I love but have been wanting more of a metal sounding guitar like the Jackson. Are the Jackson inlays also very "pearly" like the LP's?
1. To compare them, you should use something better than Roland MicroCube
2. LesPauls and Jackson superstrats are fucking very, VERY different guitars. They're uncomparable. But Jackson DR-3 is much higher-end guitar with better quality than Epiphones. I've tried both, and I can say that Epiphone Les Paul sounds richer just because it has more wood in it. Jackson is much better than Epi in all other ways
The Jackson's got more twang than the Epiphone...and is also a tad bit cleaner and has better note definition...and also sounds better on the chording... Jackson for me! :D
jackson sounds better for only metal-_- iono whats up with this guy thats playing why he's comparing but epiphone might have a better chance of rock and everything but epiphone sucks to bad its not a gibson:( but i prefur jackson.. i own a jackson my first gutiar it sounds so nice and heavy but until i bought my les paul epi ultra 2 i regret it i want my jackson back.
The Epi sounds little thicker, fuller,I think. Those micro cubes are some aswsome little amps ain't they.I hate mosquitoes,as soon as I get bit by one,I'm out of there.lol
I like them both, the Jackson sounds better clean to my ear. Having the passenger door open during the test of the Epi probably changed the accoustics, ha! Oh yeah, "Nice Vibe". 8^)
Thanks The Jackson came with Duncan Designed Like on my Fender Squire Starfire and M-77 They kinda have a little thicker sound than the stock epiphone pickups maybe a little hotter output. I'm not sure what Epiphone put in the Custom If any one knows what they are modeled after let me know 59 paf maybe? -- Charles

@CTubeTV so would you recommend an Epiphone Les Paul studio or a Jackson JS32R Dinky with Floyd Rose Tremolo?
