I don't really like snakes but I am disgusted by the treatment of these animals. They're all gods creatures and should be left alone and if they do have to be moved at least treat them with the respect they deserve.
I use to think these were horrible, but they don't cause any dent on the snakes population. Humans cause an increase in rodent population causing an increase in the snake population. I do suppose making a spectacle of it like this is kind of sick though. In Michigan the Deer are overpopulated and our hazardous for causing car accidents yet people complain about hunters. Unless you live in Texas I think its hard to comment on the practice of killing the snakes

This kind of stuff needs to be way more regulated than it is. In Oklahoma and Texas there is an unlimited take on rattlesnakes. At least at the roundups in PA are "NO KILL" and you are allowed only one snake per season. I know certain OK towns with roundups and they have to IMPORT snakes from Texas because they are so hunted out.
I wish the snakes could know what they are going to do to them so they could protect themselves. Two guys and hundreds of snakes in that pit . . . odds are in favor of the snake.

Rattlensnake roundups are extremely cruel and inhumane. The practice should be banned, and the snakes left alone. They are not doing this for educational reasons, they are doing this because they don't understand snakes and most likely think they are "evil".
I find this story to be slightly biased. All I have to say is that, as a resident of Sweetwater, none of us are worried that the snake will end up on an endangered species list. In fact, it's just the opposite. If we quit having this roundup, the area would be overrun with snakes.

This kind of stuff needs to be way more regulated than it is. In Oklahoma and Texas there is an unlimited take on rattlesnakes. At least at the roundups in PA are "NO KILL" and you are allowed only one snake per season. I know certain OK towns with roundups and they have to IMPORT snakes from Texas because they are so hunted out.

I find this story to be slightly biased. All I have to say is that, as a resident of Sweetwater, none of us are worried that the snake will end up on an endangered species list. In fact, it's just the opposite. If we quit having this roundup, the area would be overrun with snakes.
