I find it bitterly ironical -- "if I was the hero and you were the killer..."
Yeah, it is so -- but you can also look at it the other way. The singer could be seen the romantic hero, and the lawman is the prosaic "killer" who kills the heroic figure of the highwayman. You could argue that "hero" and "killer" are such blurry figures that it doesn't really make any sense to distinguish between them.

Good question :D Kain sings, so Raziel is "lawman with the badge made of silver", Raiel tries to kill Kain, and "sold" him. In first chours there is "And you say: This ain't..." so in this moment Kain quotes Raziel's words. In second chours there is only "This ain't" so now Kain says his own feelings. It's little dizzy. :D

Yeah, but don't take it serious :) it doesn't match a games story, in song one of the friend tries to kill other, and who tries to kill other in game? Raziel...
