I tried my hardest to breastfeed I had a lactation consultant come to my house and try and help and I was getting stressed out because my daughter was not latching properly and so tired from trying I gave up after a week and tried breast pump. I couldn't produce much milk that way. I ended up formula feeding my baby and felt ashamed but I kept telling myself that she had to get food some how. I am going to try again the next time around but it sure was not easy for me.
I had the same issue. I kept trying but my nipples were cracked and bleeding. It hurt so much every time my baby latched on. I was worried so I gave her formula, but I still tried to breastfeed eventually the milk came out. Don't worry just keep trying.

Don't listen 2 this these so called "experts" that say you should breast feed 8 to 12 times a day, absolutely non-sense! You and your baby will learn together how often you should feed, it's a collaberation of souls. Your baby will tell you how often they need 2 b fed. If you try 2 force it, you will end up frustrated and out worn out. Learn "When" and "How" often your baby tells you "I'm hungry" and feed them accordingly, you won't underfeed them if you'll tune-in 2 your baby's signs! Love'um!

I've been talking to someone long distance for 2yrs, but I haven't seen him since I met him. I don't think that switching breasts is the way of doing it. At least, according to our breastfeeding class and the information I've read and heard, the baby should be fed from one breast at a time only because there's a different milk at the beginning of breastfeeding, in the middle and and at the end too (so called 'baby dessert'). It changes with the baby's age and even is sensitive to things like the temperature in order to make breast milk more hydrating on a hot day. The woman does have the right to choose, but a woman who truly cares about her child should see the importance of breast feeding.
Formula isn't specially designed for your baby. If a mother is choosing to use formula, she is deciding to give her baby milk that isn't taking into consideration genes and other factors. A woman's body is even sensitive to temperature of the room in order to hydrate the baby appropriately. Yeah, go ahead and make the choice to do formula, but it isn't the best thing you can do for your baby. There's a better option.
MrsMildredPierce -I agree - choice is crucial. But I think its worth also underlining that breastfeeding is better for the babies health then formula and is an amazing process which has proven to create a bond between mother and child. Of course, many women can't breastfeed for many reasons or choose not too, but I think they should always be encouraged to for health reasons as well as emotional ones.

I did attachment parenting. When ever my son cried I breast fed. I stopped breast feed when he was 2. He also started sleeping by himself at 2 1\2.

Formula isn't specially designed for your baby. If a mother is choosing to use formula, she is deciding to give her baby milk that isn't taking into consideration genes and other factors. A woman's body is even sensitive to temperature of the room in order to hydrate the baby appropriately. Yeah, go ahead and make the choice to do formula, but it isn't the best thing you can do for your baby. There's a better option.

MrsMildredPierce -I agree - choice is crucial. But I think its worth also underlining that breastfeeding is better for the babies health then formula and is an amazing process which has proven to create a bond between mother and child. Of course, many women can't breastfeed for many reasons or choose not too, but I think they should always be encouraged to for health reasons as well as emotional ones.

well i personally am glad that SOMEONE was willing to do it on video. i do as much research as possible every day. i dont want anything to come as a surprise when my baby is born. this is a very good, very informative video. im glad to see how its really done! articles just dont do the trick.

very helpful and informative, but i wish someone would help moms with larger breasts and those who have had c-sections...MUCH harder. you'd think larger breasts would not be a problem, but it presents alot more difficulty

breastfeeding is good, but my breasts in for ME , my husband, TO SEE not for the whole damn world on youtube. That's just me. I breast feed my son up until he was just about to turn one. but informative video for new moms.
