  • This has further inspired me to go to Baltimore City's Academy in a few years.

  • nice vid

dont they use tan gear? or is this just for training

  • BCFD uses black turnout gear.

  • ok thx

i asked that cause i find pics of them wearing tan....

and baltimore is on my list of places to be a firefighter at :)

  • Weird,Iam being a firefighter in Baltiomore too!

  • I just wanted to say for those who going to join the firefighter team, u have to be a team player & have the sprit & guts to go above and beyond the call of duty so this job is not for everyone so bare in mind for people who are willing to do this is to give it all u got & support each other during the academy & into the real firefighting world cuz its never easy so be strong in the mind & sprit and in the heart.........

  • Chicago,Milwaukee and Bostson & NY fire fighters are the best, its cool to see these people in action and thanks for posting this up here cuz I work at the San Antonio Fire Academy, really I'm from Milwaukee so yeah keep up the good hard work & may god bless u all.....

  • I think the video is great people who said negative comments should give it a rest or make their own.

  • Hey bro, I read the comments below and just wanted to add. Nice job, it wasn't that bad and for people to dis you because its not how they would have done it, then forget them because your the one who went out and did it. Let them go get a camera and do it themselves and do it "better". There was some cool shots in there and it was fun to watch.

  • I appreciate the objective voice. Thank you.

  • Just for the record, if anyone wants to know who approved the footage, music, shoot locations, etc., please call the BCFD Chief of Training. Otherwise, just take this trailer for what it is and have some appreciation for the class that it represents. After all, this is YOUR fire department and these are YOUR colleagues.

  • I am also a member of this class and asll I can say is I like the video it has our memories in it. I also wish the rest of you that said you wanted the video would get off the high horse and pay the money you owe for it

  • With all due respect, for an academy class that lasted for months, this looks like it was edited in a day. Terrible choice of music, no EMS, and you shouldn't have taken video from T10 for filler. Did you get their permission for that?

  • This is a TRAILER. It was created specifically for the graduation ceremony and, might I add, met the approval of the Chief of Training. I appreciate your comments, but please be sure you know what you are actually commenting about and why.

  • good video...... enough said

  • I will add my 2 cents. I'm not taking sides, but this is how it is. I don't believe anyone is bashing. However, I do believe that the comments reflect concerns that are unrelated to this video. I am a graduate of this class, and I know the person who shot this footage. I also know that the Chief of the academy approved the footage in this video. We (the class) are not actors, and the scenes were not scripted. Like it or not, this is what training was like for Class 08-01 at the BCFD Academy.

  • I think the last three classes that came out of the academy have been better than most of the fpa classes

  • I wasnt bashing your video, if u really r doing a documentary, then u need to go out and tape the training that goes on everyday in the field. I never said the video was made for me, but u say this represents BCFD. I think u should get the opinion of BCFD members already in the field before u put our name on it. Morale is already low enough without this being posted. And I guess I am the only one who dislikes, since I was only your 2nd and 3rd post.

  • After second viewing I take back the gang sign comment. I was mistaken. But still dont like video. Chief I hope u were paid for your services.

  • I appreciate your dislike of the video (looks like you're the only one); it wasn't made with you in mind. The Chief of Training gets paid by the City of Baltimore for his services.

  • Capt., if u really r making a documentary, please lets try to find a better class to use. I mean gang signs as we come down the steps, not proper techniques on a car fire, showing them rolling hose?!?! Another class starts in Feb, lets see what they have to offer. Please do not say this represents BCFD, it shows a class that started with 75 and ended with just above 50.

  • That is actually a sign that represents the numbers "08-01". The Chief of Training is aware of the meaning of the sign. Also, I believe you would be hard pressed to find ANY firefighting training class anywhere in the country that did not have some measure of attrition.

  • Perhaps in YOUR firefighter training class YOU ALREADY KNEW how to roll hose, how to properly approach a car fire, ventilate a roof, throw a ladder, take a hydrant, perform search & rescue, provide emergency medical services, drive and properly spot an apparatus, etc. This documentary will accurately portray a group of people (who may or may not have had any such experience) learning how to perform the duties and responsibilities of an ENTRY LEVEL PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTER.

  • I guess when you first started your career you were fucking perfect right well excuse us for learning how to do your job better than you can. It does not matter how many we started with all that matters is those of us who did graduate know what we're doing and that must scare the weak minded in the dept. like you for starters

  • WOW! This an EXCELLENT trailer! I'm looking forward to seeing more!
