they just don't make music like this these days. made in 1984 and still as great 27 years later. this version (from the album: from the hip) is good but the (Restructure) and (Megamix) from the 12" are way better.
Worth checking out their 'So Far' DVD for cool (& different) versions of this classic club track...what I wouldn't give to have that jacket the bassist is wearing!
Haha. Looks like most of us here had our days at the clubs in Houston back in the day. Anyone that wants to reminisce send me a send me a message. I'd be interested in expanding my list of old artists.
"White Rabbit" by Airplane Crashers. It came out in 89 though and "Looking from a Hilltop" was I believe 84. They both got play at 6400, NRG, Xcess in the 89-91 time frame though so I'd guess that's the one.
Looking back, it may well be fair to say that the 'Megamix' version of this song may well be one of the single best extended singles of the 80s, along side 'Blue Monday' and Cabaret Voltaire's 'Sensoria'.
It's interesting to note it's success in Chicago, because at the time I first discovered this track back in '87, I immediately associated it with House music.
Its funny that Section 25 wasnt an electronic project. More indie band and cranked out a hit dance 12" (by their surprise) late 80's. I still have two copies, simply amazing!
That's interesting u mentioned that cause, that's the 1st thing I thought when I heard her voice. If I didn't know this song, I would've though that it was the singer from Lush.
I didn't know there was a "song" version; I have the album and the versions on it are basically instrumentals. I used to have a Roland SH101, it's a shame I got rid of it.
I am from Houston. Having i-tunes and down loads etc., really takes the adventure and the pleasure of searching for rare music and imports. We live in a world of "at your finger tips" now days. I use to luv to go to the records rack, sound exchange and megazone! The was another placed called Vinyl Records I think, that was prett y cool. Someone should pay tribute to back at that time. It was a so moch fun to shop for music!
I know what you mean. I was lucky enough to come across White Rabbit by the Airplane Crashers and bought it and I moved and can't find it!! And here on youtube they put the wrong side on. They put the flip side on instead! Does anyone out there have it?
Filmed at a grim Blackpool Pleasure Beach out of season - a bit of a shame when you consider that the hills of The Lake District were only an hour away. Still it did its job as that excerpt was shown on The Tube. A bit ahead of its time music wise.

My first kiss (well I was 9 and Jennifer 10 on the way home from school) will not be forgotten.

It was David Diebold & Kim Cataluna. Sex Technology, Megatone Records, around 90/91. I have vinyl, CD and video.
