  • i Found an old gerber knife in basement. has leather sheath and 084172 on blade. dagger style. can anyone tell me what era its from or if worth anything. btw if interested i will sell. it is in good shape has some surface rust on blade

  • That knife is a piece of shit. Andrew Demko did stabbing tests and the quillions broke when they hit a rib. And when he bent it in a vice, it took a set. Total crap and a waste of money.

  • @tallswede80 COLDSTEEL!!!! HOOAH

  • @tallswede80 What is the purpose of bending a dagger in a vice? How does this simulate combat in any way? Philipinos were cuttings the throats of Marines with piece of shit knives, and guess what? Those Marines became dead Marines! Know why convicts cannot have CDs? Because they make knives out of them and kill each other dead, dead dead! Dont let Andrew cloud your mind on reality, He has something to seel you.

  • @Isthattrue100

Improvised knives can hurt the user more than they hurt the victim because they break and cut their hands. A knife made from a cd can break when used, and then what do you have? An angry person who knows you just tried to kill him. The strength and durability of a knife is very important. Do you know how much a prison inmate would love to have a cold steel knife over a piece of scrap metal? In case you hadn't noticed, they don't allow Cold steel knives in prisons either.

  • @DrWmPierceAudio And they would love a Gerber knife in prison too. The point he's trying to make is that anyone willing to kill with anything can. Of course we'd pick production knives over improvised ones, but shouldn't forget how deadly tools can be in the right hands.

  • @DrWmPierceAudio Wrong! I'm in prison and they let me bring my Trailmaster Bowie!

  • @ZombieOrchestra

I'm on the moon and they let me bring my collection of Jerry Lewis DVDs....and a trailmaster.

  • wrap the handle in para cord and it's the shit. I have had mine for 20 years. Semper Fi.

  • A nice looking knive, but i never understood what you need a serrated edge on a dagger for.

  • @TrangleC It originally came without serrations in 1966 and was called a "COMBAT knife. Gerber had to added serrations and changed the name to survival knife to please the anti-war public during the vietnam War. With the change, they were still allowed to sell them in the PX.
