  • I WAS 6 JEAR THE FIRST TIME I HEAR ,STILL NOW I LOVE IT ANT ALL THE OTHER SONGS FROM THEM.

    BELGIUM FAN.

  • @TheWalter1952

    Hello Walter,

Ik was 17 toen ik ze elke zaterdagavond live volgde (in dancing St.Sauveur in Brussel.

    Popcorn liefhebber ? Moet U even naar mijn 2de adres : "LOUPI52"

    Groetjes .

  • Are these guys the same ones who put out Jungle Fever in '72? I looked on Wikipedia, and while they do say it is, there is no mention of Nico Gomez, who played a role in that '72 recording. Was he a member of Chakachas, or just produced them?

  • @phillydisco

Yes it' s the same group. In the early 50's, Fred Deprez (bass) was remplaced by dutchman Nicolas Ooms( his other name is Nico Gomez).

But this guy was not a member of The Chakachas at the moment of all the belgian success (from 1955 to 1960).

    Greats from Brussels (Belgium)

  • @Achel41 Thank you for the details!

  • que delicia, que balanço. Acho que Chackachas são mravilhosos. Adoro percussão latina, apesar de que o grupo seja belga, o que aumenta a competência deles. Perfeito!

  • Ke buena cancion =)

  • A wonderful version! I love this song by Les Chakachas!

  • This is FANTASTIC !! Question: Does the Belgian group sing in Spanish so as to provide neutrality between the speakers of flemmisch and français? It seems like a VERY clever compromise ! ! ! ! !

  • Hello !

You're right : this was a Belgian compromise.

That's the reason why many of our singers don't use one of our languages.

In this case the reason was that Kary Kento, the female singer, was an haïtan...

    Greats from Brussels

  • Wow! What a fun lively toe-tapper! Thank you! :)

  • That's what I call a feel-good tune! When did they take the fun out of music?

  • more old style cha-chas like this please, brilliant!
