The story he mentined is also not confirmed, and is met by criticism from scientists. When he was brought back the reason he behaved like he did was because they drugged him, and made him hallucinate so it was easy to control the mind. This is in no way possible to uphold from a distance without constant watch and feeding more of this hallucinogenic chemical.

This is ridiculous, toxoplasmosis does exist, and while the symptoms range from nothing to headache to seizures, it doesn't have anything to do with your Conscious. Neurotoxins do not put you in a state of near death, they kill you with paralysis. This can be treated at late stages, but often the person is CATATONIC after being awoken, as the brain suffered brain damage from a lack of oxygen while under paralysis.
