  • wow ive recently watched nosferatu 1922 so i have an idea on what it may look like and i must say the make up is perfect here

  • I like the look very nicely done and great makeup skills for ur sis , shes a pro sitting still!

  • I love your wall of lipstick kisses! Great tutorial thanks :)

  • Which products do you recommend to buy from the drugstore to achieve a similar look? I mean like for the eyes, lips. Is cherry red lips too bright for the flapper look? I have a red chanel lipstick, but it is kind of on the cherry color side.Thanks.

  • I love this tutorial!

  • i hear clint mansell. :)

  • Very cool. She looks like a silent film star. (=

  • The eyebrows should be drawn down like to make the face appear sad/sweet if you know what i mean

  • Looks very good, but the thing is in silent films they used very white powder/foundation,not light peachy skin:) just thought id throw that in there

  • that hat is darling!

  • adore the second to last photo. she looks gorgeous.

  • Oh I love this!

I love wearing flapper-ish clothes daily, and makeup completes it!

Just one thing...they really liked to exaggerate the cupids bow on their lips. Super pointy. But other than that, AWESOME!

  • Went to a Great Gatsby Gala and used your techniques. My kids said, "Ga Mom. You look so Goth." Thanks for the tutorial! It was fun!

  • Lux Aeterna i love that song did u see that movie where it shows the life of drug addicts, i forgot wht it's called but it uses that song 24/7 :P

    i luv vintage:)

  • Nice great tutorial ladies.the makeup is very accurate :)

  • holy. you have a tatoo on your inner wrist that says "sister" in japanese? ...amen...

  • Both my sister and I do! Mine says "onesan" (older sister) and hers' says "imotosan" (younger sister) ^_^

  • wow, sounds like you're a very close pair!

  • Your Sister is gorgeous!!!..You're both gorgeous!

  • @GypsySayer

awe that is so cute... my mothers maiden name was Laidy and my sisters and i have Lady Bugs on the top of our wrists.

    Also very nice video,

Powder and cream based eyeshadow were common back in the 20-30s and that gave a shimmer look on film... if you were doing this for a photo you could use a dab of Vaseline on the lid for a traditional shine.

  • your sister looks kind of scared of the camera at the begining

  • you're very talented..You can do alot of vintage make-up style..Keep it up!

  • Oh My Gosh, thanks so much for this tutorial!!! In my opinion it's the best one I've seen on youtube yet ^_^ I'm sure I'll be able to pull of this look with your easy to follow instructions. Thanks again :)

  • Oh, geez, I was going to do a tutorial on 20s make-up, but you did it so well! Seriously, absolutely fabulous.

I used to have that palette, but it does NOT travel well [read: gets effing EVERYWHERE, breaks, blargh!], so I had to throw it away. Sad day in Kateville, for sure.

    Love,

    Kate

  • Hey Sayer,

Looks Great! I miss you so much. This is the only way I ever get to see you now! Give me a ring sometime!

  • I LOVE all of your looks (and Bare Escentuals!). I recently got addicted to all of Bare Minerals' makeup, and I kind of want to upgrade to the regular size foundation (I'm using the Get Started kit right now). How long does the regular size last?

And also, would you recommend the "Beyond the Basics" kit? Sorry for all of the questions!

  • This is awesome! I'm obsessed with Greta Garbo and was thinking of dressing up as her for Halloween... if I do, I am soooo going to use this as a guide for my makeup! :D

  • really great :)\

    And you're very funny

I love the way the look turned out =)

  • Glad you like it!!!
