About him being the greatest magician in comics: I'd say it's more of a tie with Doctor Fate and Doctor Strange. But then, they're in two different universes. They're Both Awesome.
I know, Dr. Fate is the like Boba Fett of the DC Universe: people love him, he's mysterious, but he's not around all that much so we never get enough of him haha. He's always been a favorite of mine.
