Also, Warner Media Group along with Sony and Virgin all own most of the labels. WMG ect. are mainstream labels making their music mainstream. Almost all metal, unless it is published under an independent label, is sell out music. By your definition, Dream Theater, BTBAM, Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Judas Preist are all mainsteam.

I don't see them as metal, simply because it doesn't have the same passion as metal. And as to Slayer, Megadeth,Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, they have been in the music business for long enough to turn any record label big enough.
