Actually Harvest moon DS takes place 100 years in the future, you can see your grave stone if you connect your GBA cartridge in the DS.

I think that girl might be aja manna's duaghter or she could be may's mother (barleys daughter)

Probably it's Aja because I think may's mother must be a little bit older.

But It's proved that Aja is the same age as all the young characters because Cliff said something about Manna and However-her-husband-is-called were trying to hook him up with her.
