  • Nothern irish and southern irish accents are very different, and all over the south accents differ, that is somthing that many people who are not irish dont understand.

  • that is not the most famous ghost story in ireland

  • I'm from missouri I understand

    him perfectly

  • oi loike your accent. purfectly anderstondable. I'm scottish and we are always having the piss taken out of our accent by dumb impressionists so i thought you were fair game, but all in good nature of course. Thanks for posting, it looks just the same as scotland.

  • @chrysalis72 Im irish aswell as him:) I don't really hear the difference between scottish and irish accents.

  • sorry bad joke..had to be said though.

  • @antojewell i'm irish and you have no respect, no wonder you cant have a clue what he's saying, you've got alot of junk in your ears left overs from loving your own voice and where can it be now all those profane words no one wants to hear but you, but stocked up in your ears blockin you from hearing or maybe its your computer, but i'd say its not the latter its the first that's the matter.

  • @AmericanPoetTree 1+1= apples

  • @antojewell haha!

  • ha ha oh god that how ther speeking that the nachur,i thanking man hoo made thes cose he trying too share thes storry weth us,that why he iss nice man.

  • couldnt understand a word...

  • There's a great book called "Haunted Carlow" that you all might like; I'm Irish and I think we have the most frightening ghost stories. Great memories of listening to the stories of the Sidhe with my blankets pulled up to my chin in fear!

  • I'm not irish or anything, but I love Ireland and their spooky ghost stories!

  • I'm half Irish too! I have been looking up ghost stories from there since 2days ago lol

  • @NerdCrackers The Narrator isn't Irish though, he's British because he is from Northern Ireland.

  • @TheHasselBoff that depends, people from Northern Ireland are Irish but part of Britain, same way the English are English but part of Britain and the Scottish are Scottish but part of Britain, no one is solely British.

  • I'm half Irish and I love the stories that come from there. Ireland has a great many ghost stories.

  • @TexasCenaGurl I agree. Ireland has numerous ghost stories. I once encountered a ghost of a very beautiful, smiling lady in a nursery home. Dressed in the fashion of WWII era, she stood near a elderly woman in bed. When I saw how the ghost looked at the patient, I instantly knew that she was the deceased mother. She wore a motherly expression of love on her face. She next turned to me and thanked me for caring for her daughter. She called me "doll." Lastly she disappeared into thin air.

  • @TexasCenaGurl are you from america?

  • @sean2kk8 yes I'm.

  • @TexasCenaGurl all americans think their half irish or quarter irish, truth is your not :/

  • @sean2kk8 well techelly my dad was half scotish/scot irish. so I"m more less Scotish scot Irish/ black dutch on my mother side.

  • God i love Irish accent! heheh ghosts, weather, politic,gardening..who careeeeeees....keep talking dear!hehe

  • I love stories about ghosts, I wish I could understand this english accent but I had great difficulty understanding him, maybe because I am french, I usually understand english but not english accents, same thing with french accents...isn't it weird? I wish there was only one language sometimes...thanx for sharing anyway...

  • Horror novel see video book trailer

  • Fine story and any english speaker should understand this man.

  • I drive past this church every day on my way to work. I have never given it a second glance. Will probably stop some morning to have a look.

  • WOW...I totally agree with misscarolyn. Folklore is a major part of the past and present! I am Canadian and I was fascinated with this tale....whether it be true or not, I will definaletly be the last one to knock it. We don't know what is out there and there are proven cases of the unknown and spirits inhabiting the last place they ever knew before they passed....just think before you post. People may not remember what you say BUT they will remember how you made them feel!

  • What the hell do you have to gain by insulting someone who is telling a story? If you can't understand it, then don't bother watching! I'm sorry but I'm EXTREMELY irritated by the fact that a good bulk of you don't know how to spell, aren't REALLY listening to the story being told or are just acting like complete dolts! And WHY?... because that's what IDIOTS DO!!! Damn it! GROW SOME FUCKING GREY MATTER!!! I'm American & not very proud of the narrow-minded bullshit I've been reading, AT ALL!!!!!!

  • thanks for that im origanly from milltown near antrim leaft 4 australia 1968 with my parents i was 7 been back once 1989 its still home cheers mate.

  • I have no problem understanding him.... Love how Irish people tell stories - just captivating!

  • Irish people are difficult to understand--they garble their words a lot. I grant you its musical. Perhaps they should learn the Gaelic again and speak that as their main language again.

  • dude that was an interesting ghost story very scary yeah it was really good.now can you repeat it please? slowly very slowly couse i couldnt understand A FUCKIN WORD

  • The speaker is using just one of the many ordinary dialects from Ulster. I can understand him plainly, because although I'm not from his part of Ulster, I am Northern Irish. So his English use is perfectly normal in his own context. LIke all unfamiliar and broad dialects, it takes a while to get your 'ear in'. But it's no worse than anywhere else where English is the native language and the dialect broad.

  • @Anni81460

    Its in Ireland.

    They have an accent.

Deal with it, you narrow minded idiot..

  • TALK NORMAL ENGLISH PLEASE!?

    I don't understand anything of that english/irish accant... --'

  • @lovelywomen38 Hello there, I live near this place and have the same accent and I can totally understand how it is difficult to understand his accent. Don't let anyone upset you with negative comments, you have a good point, this guy is definitely difficult to understand.

  • @lovelywomen38 Hey,I'm Irish and I can barely understand him either. The accent is weirder than the story!

  • @Frysgirl3009 Im Australian and I too have no problem understanding this accent- I notice that only the americans have problems understanding other accents-maybe its because they're so self invovled or maybe they're all just plain stupid!

  • @ItchyBirdDmb I'm Canadian, i can understand most of it, not all. maybe cause i'm orginally british so i'm used to accents like that.

  • @ItchyBirdDmb hey im from the us(american) and i understand middle eastern austrailian african and irish just fine so maybe the americans you're referring to just don't listen hard enough

  • @ItchyBirdDmb the americans are dumb, they want English to be the language around the world because they cannot learn other language

  • @ItchyBirdDmb Well, I'm American and I understand just fine. I guess I don't need any of them fancy book learnings like you think since all American's in your eyes are stupid. Choose your words wisely....

  • It's just a strong Northern Irish Accent, I'm from Lisburn, near Drumbeg where the video starts. I never realized the Ghost story was so popular, informative, cheers.

  • It's just a strong Northern Irish Accent, I'm from Lisburn, near Drumbeg where the video starts. I never realized the Ghost story was so popular, informative, cheers.

  • I know the place well, been in Bob Stewarts a good few times, that story is true, heard it before. Well done for an informative narrative. ............ Galway

  • Your accent is feirce broad....I understand ya perfectly tho...

  • America like all countries has it's shares of problems but, there is no other place I would rather be. Why do you think lots of people come to live in the U.S.. This is the place to be!

  • I wish I understood what you were saying? Is that english? Maybe Im an idiot but anyway... @ 2:00 minutes the church looks like a demon! That was scary. DFAR

  • I understood it perfectly well, I wonder if the church or law records of the time has any documents to back this up, what a great story! I don't know why it is but the northern irish are fantastic story tellers as a people. Thanks for keeping this tale alive.

  • Wat kind of crap is he toking abt? I can ONI hear his dam muffled voice!

  • its not the irish accent its the NORTHERN irish accnt. get ur facts straight. AND is a bad quality recording.

  • it is in english just the irish accent.....

  • I said ENGLISH not IRISH- I want to hear this story. But I cant understand a word you're saying.

  • @missayr stfu lil bitch

  • heheh, no offence intended, but I do love how the USA subtitles Accents on TV, fair enough though the Irish accents can carry a very heavy brouge, and can be hard to understand even to other English speaking peoples. I find some American Accents pretty hard to comprehend at times (I'm Australian) try listening to some New Zealand accents, especially those with heavy Maori influence.

  • all these comments about it's northern Irish talk.....lol...the proper term is Gaelic. I am an american (born) but since doing my family tree have decided to teach my kids the language my family left behind. It is nice to have a converation with my husband in the old language so that my In-laws can't understand and be their usual nosey eavesdropping selves. It's sad that americans are annoyed by their ancestors' languages, but after all they do say ignorance is bliss.

  • @Tinyoak2 Yeah but he's speaking English.

  • could someone please translate this into English.

  • @missayr

    Its in english

  • Awk, I remember we had a substitute teacher in primary school and he would tell us this story. Spooked me. I actually went to that graveyard on Hallowe'en 3 years ago. Scary place in the dark. Two friends and I went and we thought up a name of a person we would say we were visiting, if we had been stopped. And a name just popped into my head - Robert Williamson. And the first grave we saw when walking in was that of a Robert Williamson - a new grave. Scared the lot of us! lol

  • Maybe its bad reception?

  • i need sub-titles, i cant understand a thing, i love the irish but cant understand sorry:(

  • You sound like Brendan Gleeson.

  • I live in Kildare....

  • Why do we need to know that?

  • Drumbeg and Lambeg both have a strange feeling about them. Lovely villages but very eerie at times

  • im irish we tell great stories lol ha haaaaaaaaaaaa blaaaaa

  • im mexican we tell stories of how we ran from the migration police(im serious)

  • yes it's you guys who are ruining our healthcare.

  • and make your own race look bad

  • race?

Oh wow o: you sound american the way you said that.

  • you think i had a choice? my family decided to have something better so we moved here. America is pretty pathetic i forgot why i even said that in the comment about making your race look bad i dont even remember why i said that

  • i agree america is pathetic

  • @cullinane8888 yeah same ireland has that road someware in the hills yu can here dead soldries marching

  • @cullinane8888 its too fucking true

  • this tale is fishy

  • How come you never hear about any hauntings in Israel, or any place in the middle east?

  • There are some, especially Djinn's ;) Just search a bit. Okay, Israel, never heard about something going on there, too. But I bet there is...not every person speaks about it because of their believe.

  • lots of peaple belive there sole goes straight to another body ok they might not see ghostes but they do see there dead relitives in other humans in things they do or things they say and i think the middle east is alot like that

  • Maybe the muslims dont believe in ghosts?

  • Maybe because with all the fighting and destruction and rebuilding, no one is in one place long enough to pass on any stories, plus it would depend on the culture of the nation, Anglo-European countries like the US, Canada etc are more open to retelling of ghosts than other cultures

  • I live near Drumbeg.
