We have too much self-hate within our own race. Light skin vs Dark skin, Black men vs Black women, African Americans vs Africans, Black on Black crimes needs to stop!!! At the end of the day we are still from the same race and have a common struggle. I know we as Africans in the diaspora lost their African history, culture, and native language, but at least take time on internet to learn about Africa. United we stand, divided we fall! If it wasn't for my African ancestors i would not be here.
i think people forget and act as if "African Americans" are 100% African from a tribe called "black" but although we live in the US and mostly speak English we do have mixed bloodline like ever other person in America the Continent from the end of Brazil to US & even Canada
This is why we are working and compiling as MUCH information as possible to provide to anyone willing to learn. There are currently 53 countries in Africa. In July, there will be 54. In Cameroon alone there are over 260 tribes. In Nigeria, over 360 tribes.....all having their own language. There is a way to educate and WE have to do it. An education system created by the oppressor will NEVER do that for us. We have to do it ourselves. We ARE doing it ourselves.
The second girl couldn't seem to really answer the question about what IS black culture? She just started talking about people imitating hip hop. Does she means hip hop is african american culture? The third girl's answer (Steacy) was typical of many black american's attitudes. I see what the guy in the video is trying to show. By the way african slave descendants are not only in America and Europe, but also in Latin America and the Middle East. The last girl's answer was the most sensible.
ha....... you should have called me and my friends we would have told you what the diaspora is. we also would have enlightened you of our appreciation of African culture
Ha Ha Ha! Yo my yung brother, this project of yours is on point. I know it can be heart breaking to listen to our sisters and brothers in all there ignorance, but you are doing what needs to be done, big ups! You the man for this job! I will support you to no end! Peace Love and Light!
This shows us how much work we have to do as a people. We are still mentally enslaved. Physical slavery might have been in the past, but if you don't know your history you are bound to repeat it. There are blacks all over the America's encountering similar treatments to us here and if we could organize together we could rise as a people. If we can connect our similarities instead of our differences such as our connection to the motherland we can move forward.
so what do they teach in american schools that people wudnt kno what 'diaspora' means. But its a fact that most people dont kno much about 'the dark continent'
What I feel we, the African Diaspora of North America, lack is ethnic and cultural pride. If we were proud of our heritage, our roots, our ancestral gifts, we would know ourselves and each other a whole lot better. We'd know our history. And understand that we're connected to every African descendant around the world.
I have elders of the diaspora (Jamaica, Brazil and USA) in my life, fortunately. They remind me daily that we are one and the same, no matter where our ancestors were brought.
wow. Firstly, it was well put together. Secondly, it's mindboggling that many of my brothers and sisters are still "enslaved" mentally. Without History, destiny doesn't exist. So sad. It angers me when people, especially black people say, "Slavery happened so long ago; we need to get over it." Are you kidding??? I blame partly the education systems. They hardly teach African history in America today; what is taught, is very sugarcoated/screened.

Great Video! We need to be educated as a people...because we have not been properly educated about our history!!

You are right, no idea. Most African American women are in complete denial. Total indoctrination.
