hay this was awesome but i was thinking if you could throw the shuriken with both hands and grab them from a pouch on both sides wouldn't you be able to throw super fast i may be wrong but hay its worth a try?
The pouch would only slow me down, the best way to do this as fast as possible woudl be to not even even my second hand and hold all the 5 shuriken in my hand.
I can throw like that but so far that technique is too messy, I still have to work on it.
As for double handed throwing, my bad arm is inaccurate and doesn't throw as far. I obviously havn't trained it that much. But again, here it wasn't the point to throw with both hands.
yep around 4 secs, but the youtube timer is not good enough. The cam I used isn't excellent either.
You would need a good cam and a good timer to see how fast we can truly throw.
However I looked at the time in my video editing software and I occasionally throw in less that 4 secs.
Several shuriken throws in 1 second...that's BS obviously, unless you throw several at once and even then it will take a bit over 1 second. The travelling time from 10 m is way over a second.

The challenge was to throw with one hand.
The pouch would only slow me down, the best way to do this as fast as possible woudl be to not even even my second hand and hold all the 5 shuriken in my hand.

very nice job. It looks like you reply the same clips a few times. Still very impressive though.

What a fun challenge!
I think I will give it a try.
Is the idea to throw as many as possible as quickly as possible or throw just 5 quickly?
Jayredthorn 2 years ago
The idea is to throw 5 as fast as possible.
It comes from the fact that it's said that you could throw 5 shuriken in 1 breath.
Furthermore some people even claim that you could throw 20 shuriken in a matter of a few seconds.
With this challenge we showed reality.
Feel free to try it out : D
I had a lot of fun trying to come up with a good fast technique.

i think theres a plateau of around 4 seconds we can't throw faster than that

old books say 一気五剣 5 shuriken one breath is the goal of shurikenjutsu
scottbaioisdead 3 years ago
That would be awesome, but scientificly speaking it sounds almost impossible.
Who knows how fast you could throw with years of training...
crazyseba666 3 years ago
Yes. You really know it (奥義 or 秘伝).
I did the trial which threw 12 Shurikens as possible quickly the year before last. (however, by one hand)
The biggest burden was added to our "respiration"
And when I did real fight Simulation with my Budo-friend, I realized continuity throwing became very necessary.
By the way, we call "a friend in a sector of martial arts" in this way in Japan.

I would imagine that in a fight simulation it's even harder, if you consider some bad weather it's going to be even harder.
Could you post your own version? I'm very interested at how fast your throwing is.
Those fight simulation would also be interesting to watch.
