You could do worse than check out the new Trekinetic Android at the Mobility Roadshow, Peterborough, UK. June 30-2nd July. Also to those, who criticised the Trekinetic in the snow, please give us a break! This was the first time, we saw how the chair performed in deep snow as such falls are rare in the UK. Of course in retrospect, a snow plow would have eased Kate's progress, but we can only develope based upon trial and this is exactly what was posted.
@Trekinetic Unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I live in Canada; but I would be interested in seeing videos of the new trekinetic android. The response posted did not reply to the question of using a propulsion system.I have only seen 2 other manufacturers use propulsion systems on manual chairs; renegade, and mountaintrike; both look able to outperform trekinetic because of propulsion systems used.
I would love to see the new android model. and more videos of the wheelchair being used
Fair comment steviemartin, but we had previously developed Kevlar reinforced gloves, to accompany the studded tyres. In trials they proved, quite long lasting with the studded ice tyres.
i'm glad the customer is happy but at 3.05 Mike (the inventor and builder) comments on "studded snow tyres" and then "using no hand rims"... does this guy think before he talks. Luckily they decided they weren't needed, if not we could have had alot of customers with hands ripped apart!

Why not apply a propulsion system?

better off mounting an electric snow thrower to a powerchair. This idea is borderline.

As a lifelong wheelchair user, I think you need wider wheels and elevated legrests so that your feet don't cause the snow-plough effect.

should have some sort of shield to keep snow off the feet
