  • OMG!!!

    thanks for putting this up!!

Now I can prove to my family this show was in fact part of my Saturday mornings as a kid!

Love the song and love the WAAAAY cool opening film!!! AWESOME!!! thank you!!

  • Who did the opening, George Dunning?

  • This was show that even seemed trippy when it first ran. Never liked it, but it seemed to be on very early in the morning when nothing else was on the other two channels we had, so we were kind of stuck with it. LOL about the shag carpet. I was sitting on one a lovely shade of electric blue.

  • I remember this show. That opening looks like it was made for 5 year-olds with a serious dope problem. Only in the '70s!

  • Dirty Frank!

  • This used to be on CBS channel 2 in Chicago Sunday mornings, if I remember correctly.

  • Hi.Thanks for checking out my channel! Yes,that's correct! He also later appeared on "hill street blues" & replaced actor michael conrad after he passed away from cancer. It also featured jobeth williams & tucker smallwood.

    Enjoy! Cattman2

  • If memory serves me, Robert Prosky was on this show. He was in a number of motion pictures after Jabberwocky like "The Natural" , "Rudy" and "Mrs. Doubtfire" just to name a few.

  • @LoneNutter1 ...and he was Darnell in "Christine"

  • Though I never forgot Frank (the caveman? what the hell was he?), I'm amazed that I drew a total blank about Jabberwocky's intro - it's so cool.

    ...Oh, so this is Jabberwocky.

Thanks for brightening my day with this upload!

  • @TheManWhoAwoke Dirty Frank :)

  • "jabberwocky. Like the one on Alice in Wonderland?!"

  • wow what a creepy intro were parents on acided or lsd?

  • l HATED this show even when l was five l thought it was soooo gay. Now seeing it again after all these years totally affirms it "gayness" . Thank GOD the 70s ended!!

  • What a GREAT television show this was for kids as well as adults!

  • JoBeth Williams go her start on this series. Is that her we see briefly behind the camera?

  • Thank you for uploading this, I thought that I dreamed this show existed.

Btw, Got any Count Frightenstein clips?

  • The intro animation is psychadelic and CREEPY. Like someone said, it looks just like Yellow Submarine. Which was a MINDTRIP, itself. The intro song is so memorable and cool. lol

  • OH MY GOD!!! I used to LOVE this show as a kid! I totally flashed back to living outside of Boston as a little girl - that was great!

  • Hi.Sadly I do NOT have any clips from "Captain Bob".

Thanks for viewing my clips.I have many clips to post-it's just a matter of having time to post some more.I hope to soon.*Some stuff was even recorded on BETA!!!

    Best,Scott Catton - "Cattman2".

  • You have this do you have any Captain Bob?

  • This animation looks like it was done by the same people who did 'Yellow Submarine'.

  • my sister use2 love this show

  • Oh my God I'm fucken old!

  • Living in Los Angeles, I remembered this show growing up. Back in the Fall of 1974, it would come on Early Sunday Morning on KTTV Channel 11-Los Angeles, like around 6 or 7 A.M., really early following the Elemenatry News.

Does any Los Angeles Native here on You Tube remember those days?

  • This is a show me and my sister realy didnt like but we would watch it anyways becasue it was on real ealry before the good cartoons.

  • I used to watch this when I was REAL young! That and the Nature World of Capt. Bob. I had one of my artwork featured on Capt. Bob at one point.

Brings back memories when I lived in the Hood (Chelsea, MA). Thanks, Cattman2.

  • Ya dude, I remember this. I'm from Quincy. Reminds me also of Fred cusick shouting "score! Bobby Orr!!"

  • Great local broadcasting, well ahead of its time. Educational and entertaining. Trina was sexy too!!!!

  • My cousin and I were on the show talking about glass. Wish I had that one.

I stood behind the man operating the puppet, "Frank" (I think that was his name).

  • Thanks, Thanks, Thanks so much for sharing that. I remember watching this in RI, in the am with my brothers, sitting on the white shag carpet in front of the BIG floor model TV. Now that's Old School!!

  • Man that was a mind blow. Sun morn @ 0700 wan't it? Does anyone have any old Major Mudd shows????

  • @shemphoward69 I know you commented a year ago but I had to tell you - it's very possible that there are no existing Major Mudd shows out there. The only one YouTube has is of his benefit dinner from 1973, taped shortly before he died. TVParty has some photos and nostalgic remembrances from fans, but that's about it. They do have a brief clip of his alter ego Feep, however. Apparently if anyone has any Major Mudd stuff, they're keeping it to themselves.

  • I love that song , it is one of my favorite childhood memomries, i was 14 in 1974. Thanks so much

  • Awesome stuff! Local TV will never get this good again. This & Capt. Bob was part of my TV diet living in Beantown back in the day. Thanks for keeping a piece of Boston TV history alive & well, cattman2! :)
