The music on 'YouTube Doubler, Musica Relajante by VJ Ann O'Nymous works really well with your song, try playing them at the same time. It's works for the most part but starts to go from a nice but haunting sound track to a little odd as both tracks move gradually away from each other musically. Still sounds interesting though. Um, I don't know if you ever noticed, but whether a musician is a "big deal" is very subjective. I heard this song and fell in love with it right away. Even though it might not be so appealing to you, this group have achieved the status of being in the top 20 most traded artists on the internet even though they are not signed. That's a first. i guess i should have been more specific in my questioning. i know music is very subjective and i wasnt questioning that this has become the 14th? highest downloading artist in history i was mearly asking why.

I personally cant understand how music this bland could become so popular. its simplistic in structure, its lacking rhythm. Its just cheesy strings/pads and a sub average vocal track... the lyrics dont redeem it the are uninspiring .. again i ask what is the catch?

The catch is, you have a different opinion about what music you like. Music is an art, a passion, not a scientific calculated formula whereby rhythm, structure and vocal tracks put together in the correct way will equal success.

Just because you don't think it's a great track doesn't mean everyone else in the world thinks the same. Thats the great thing about music. I personally am not a fan of Jazz, but that doesn't mean I can't understand why it is so popular amongst it's own followers.

The success of a musical artist does not always mean the artist's songs were superior in quality to the other thousand similar artists. A lot of it has to do with marketing and people who decide they want to make a difference and somehow get the band/artist noticed.

As to why people might like this kind of song..christwhiteeu already answered it in the simplest way possible. The heart of your question is basicallly, "why do people like certain things?" Difficult to answer without delving deep.
