  • 240p we meet again

  • ......so for the non chemistry majors out there (...me lol), what exactly is happening in the reaction?

  • You would get an even more impressive reaction if you dropped a piece of ice in hot oil...lol

  • @HalofreakinTnA those jokes are so boring

oh dude i have a nother one " this glass looks like a dick "

wow i hate those jokes ...

wanna see another highest rated comment...

sry when you dont like my englishm xD

  • no not in the pit! it burnnsss..

  • Duuude, take the ad out of your video.

  • @FryChicken I dont like it either but having them help me raise money to buy chemicals

  • Idiots Ammonium Nitrate explodes at about 500 degrees or so, fu*k tard you could have killed yourself!

  • @MrBlackwater1979 No, it does not. It decomposes.

  • haha he was running away from the ammonia

  • I did it with 125mesh Mg powder and it was fucking insane!!!!!!!

  • I tried this with lit magnesium. crazy reaction

  • Guess you'd always want to stay upwind of the fumes...

  • this mix exploded once, when i done this.

    molten NH4NO3 dont like metalls.

  • this is a contradiction: ammonia gas is not flammable... or is it? my chem teacher says it is not

  • anhydrous(completely dry) ammonia NH3 is damn flammable! look up the X-15 spaceplane, it was fuelled by ammonia burning with oxygen, your ''Chemistry teacher'' is wrong on this one.

  • well, ammonia is flammable, just not reactive to sustain a flame in the atmosphere.

  • ok, this makes much more sense to me!

  • it is. it was used as a rocket fuel in one of the second world war axis rockets. think about it.

    CH4, flammable.

    NH4 flammable

  • ammonia is NH3.

Its oxides are very unstable and release energy when decomposing. So you can oxidize Nitrogen or ammonia, but it wouldn´t actually burn.

And: the difference between nitrogen and carbon is HUGE.

  • powder them both mix them put it in a tube or somthing inclosed pack it in put flash powder and pack it stick a fuse in cover it up and run i made a mushroom cloud with less then half a gram

  • i rape you all (:

  • Um.. im probably wrong here but doesn't Ammonium nitrate decompose before it melts?

  • decompose means... begins to smoke and... um smoke?

  • thats correct, decomposition already starts when melting at about 170° but it really decomposes at 210° or something

  • Good comeback and spelling, are you admitting defeat? Or are you going to come back with a legitimate response?

  • You better not let the AN get too hot because it is capable of detonationg without fuel.

  • haha

without fuel ammonium nitrate is capable of detonating but the only way to det it is by a very strong shockwave from a primary high explosive lol

  • Most of the AN disasters were caused by a fire superheating the AN causing it to detonate. Learn some more about chemicals before trying to be a smartass.

  • ur the one trying to be a smartass when acually u dont know shit about how stable AN is...its one of the most stable HE when ANFO and when its just AN it wont detonate from heat... go do ur research u little cock sucker

  • I understand how stable it is (I have pounds of the stuff) but at EXTREME temperatures the Ammonium Nitrate can decompose explosively being that it contains both a strong Oxidizer (NO3) and reducer (NH4) this is the same reason ammonium chlorate and perchlorate can detonate. Google Ammonium Nitrate Disasters and you will read that most had no fuel or explosives present.

I'll do a test later, also, gupnup fuck off

  • u fuck off ur a gay little prick that doesnt know shit

  • wow. seriously?

  • dude, you're a dumb shit.

  • dude u dont knwo shit so shut ur shut the fuck up

  • yeah right, you and your high school chem.

  • im not gonna argue with u cause ur stupid and wont get it

    fucktard

  • Nice cowardly exit, we all know you don't have the substance.

A fucking " shockwave from primary high explosive".. wow what a joke. Chew on this monkey; In space dimension 2, it is well-known that the Smoluchowski-Poisson system (also called the simplified or parabolic-elliptic Keller-Segel chemotaxis model) exhibits the following phenomenon: there is a critical mass above which all solutions blow up in finite time while all solutions are global below that critical mass.

  • Ocean514,you are wrong, you will need a temperature around 320C to set off Ammonium Nitrate, the temperature of molten ammonium nitrate is somewhere around 180C to 240C, I am not sure where exactly, but the experiment was done safely, stop criticizing people as well!

  • The guy I was arguing with said that AN could NOT detonate on its own, that it NEEDED a; "Shockwave from a primary high explosive"...kindergarden talk. I was reffering to AN's critical mass, not on the experements procedures or safety precautions.

  • Who's the fucktard now, bitch.

  • You are still the fucktard. Acually AN is anything but hard to get...ever heard of instant icebags....

Oh and indeed the only efficent and reliable way to detonate a secondary primary explosive is through a shockwave from a primary explosive such and Acetone Peroxide etc.

Please do yourself a favour and shut up cause youre making youreself look stupider then you probably are.

I am now done and don't expect me to respond anymore; Im blocking you.

    Have a nice day :)

    Dumbass

  • I said nothing about the availability. I talked about critical mass, if you knew what that was, you wouldn't have replied.Or even started in the first place. Get an edumacation hick.

  • Actually If you heat AN to about 320C it can detonate, but the person doing this experiment heated it to about 180C where it can melt or about approximately that degree, so it is safe.

  • yea, ur were makin ammonia there you know

  • sounds like very fast sex, eww.

  • @HalofreakinTnA LOL. It also sounds like scurrying crabs.

  • lol NH4ClO4 and powdered Mg is flash powder!

  • @ryanfenimore

Yea that works, but i'm pretty sure Al and pottassium chlorate (or perchlorate) is the most common one

  • @ryanfenimore

I've tried NH4ClO4 and powdered Mg. It's more strobe powder rather than flash powder. KClO4/Al makes excellent flash powder

  • You Should Try AMMONIUM NITRATE and BLEACH BUT BE CAREFUL BY THE TIME THE BLEACH HITS THE AMMONIUM NITRATE IT MAKE A BUNCH OF SMALL BUT LOUD EXPLOSIONS AND THE GAS IS VERY BAD FOR YOU TO INHALE BUT FUN HEHE

  • Ammonium nitrate woud work as oxidizer and reaction woud be much stronger if you woud ignite Mg ribbon.

  • If you wanted to oxidize Mg ribbon you shoud ignite Mg ribbon before putting it in molten AN

  • what do you mean? igniting the ribbon is going to oxidize.

  • @pyroNUKE if you lit it, it would of blown.....

  • @shaner1ray

No it just shoots sparks in the air, and cracks the tube.

  • lol....funny sound
