A very well thought-out combination of images to compliment Captain Calvert's masterpiece. Real Starfighters, Lemmy, Nik, Robert from the early seventies, and some snippets of the Hawks at Ipswich in '84. Nice.
This footage just made my night, thank you for this rare glimpse in to Hawkwind/Calverts past....wish I was there o have dropped acid and watched Stacia transform before my mind, into the lizard queen, all 6 feet of her! Cheers from across the pond.
Dont fucking insult the band man . I aint gunna curse ya , please dont talk bollocks . Music on Captain lockeed and the starfighters Album .. Enough said !
This is the first time i've seen these comments and I just want to say that I think madebutante made a good point. Early Roxy Music was awesome, just listen to their 'Ladytron' or 'Remake/Remodel' and you will hear Hawkwind in there.
Our friend wasn't insulting anyone, least of all the bands.
Not everyone you see on YouTube talks bollocks,
and there are times when you will come across other intelligent life out there. Including yourself seeing as you're into Here & Now and Gong
@rp61wasinnocentok Well, Eno was on this LP. The treated-voice sound effect where Robert sings "MAAA-CHIIIINE" is Eno all the way. Unfortunately, Eno's influence kind of messed up the Lucky Leif LP - which wasn't destined for the greatness of Capt Lockheed anyway, but supposedly Eno talked Calvert out of doing the LP his own way, convincing him that the spoken parts were too boring.
Right On! First we had the Calvert song, then the Tom Wolfe book and movie, then the Monster Magnet cover of the original. And now we have the rp61 hawkwind masup...
Sorry, When I uploaded this earlier I got an error message so I didn't bother filling in the description cause I thought it hadn't worked. Sorted that out now, 1974 was the year.
In fact nice vid altogether! Very well done!!!

This ain't Hawkwind - it's Bob Calvert's first solo album which admittedly has most of Hawkwind on it but....Nice hawkwind footage though!

This is real proto-punk. Johnny Rotten was a Hawkwind fan.
