@berlinmuzik Open the case and look for REG2. Its a three pin chip marked LM1117 laying flat to the right of the large philips chip. Try pressing down on this chip while starting the 828. If this helps, you will either need to reheat the metal tab on the side opposite the pins in order to reflow the solder, or replace the chip if its damaged.
@berlinmuzik I've had temporary problems with MOTU interfaces. What worked for me was to turn it off and completely unplug the unit. Then switch the red DC switch on the side of the unit to reset it. Leave it for a few seconds (like restarting a router). Put it back where you found it (this is very important!!!), plug it in and you're ready to go.
The LED screen on my MOTU 828Mk2 has recently just disappeared i.e. does not show anything. It is still sending audio in and out but now the audio signal frequently just stops for no apparent reason. It's too old to send back for repairs but does anyone know if there are driver updates that would help with this problem? Thank you.
Does it get better as time goes by - like as it gets warmer? Seems to be a timing startup problem though - like checking interrupts all at the same time and they all arrive at slightly different times - that's all that could explain a digital device giving such varied startup behaviours. Possibly a power supply cap going stupid - once it starts ok is it fine thereafter? Overall, not a sw/firmware prob I'd say.
what you´ve done to fix the problem?
I have exacly the same trouble :/

I also notice other ppl here on utube with similar probs with the same unit - so not uncommon. If it's fairly new I'd take it back.
