Trolling on about Johnny Depp's acting. Granted, I may not be a big fan of Johnny Depp himself, but his acting is absilutly spectacular. He was wonderful in Alice in Wonderland. Totally fit into his roll wonderfully, the result of the movie was great.

@Furingia he approved the casting for a reason. how can you say what is and isnt Tim Burton material when he himself cast her. an invitation to play in someone's sandbox is a metaphor. this sandbox is a representation of his imagination, his world. for which tim is famous for. creating visual art and a world outside the norms of reality. so she is being invited to play along is his vision thus an invitation to play in someone's sandbox.

So? Every director makes some mistakes. LOL. It's one of those "one of these things is not like the other" things. Anne Hathaway may be an excellent actress, I have nothing really against her. She just doesn't fit in a Tim Burton world. If I would've seen Anne Hathaway strolling around in Sweeney Todd I probably would've peed my pants from laughter. It's like putting a daisy in a garden of roses. It doesn't fit there. It sticks out...in a bad way!

@Furingia i can agree to disagree in that YOU dont think she'll fit. but you cant say she doesnt fit in HIS vision because no one can decided that but tim. your talking about what you think is tim burtons vision. an actress is supposed to mold herself to fit the part, she can mold herself to be what he envisions. now i would believe she has to stick out in the movie. i mean she has white hair and a white dress, as opposed to the movie and other characters with more dark or warm tones.

@Bettyboop17d Actually, the white would make her fit. Because it would be unlikely for her to appear that way in a normal movie. But she is a normal movie person, while most of the cast is rather eccentric. Did I ever mention anyone's vision?!? Uh...duh. No. I think it's the fact that her usual characters she plays are not eccentric, and she as a person isn't very eccentric, and most of Tim Burton's movies are out of the norm and rather eccentric and bizarre. -C

Now, don't you think that visual picture would be quite.....frightening and unnatural? Either way...I guess we'll see....but there are many other people he could've cast.
