I was 18 when this happend (the same age as John Travers) and it literally devastated me because of it's nature - it wasn't just another murder, it was the worst crime you could possibly imagine - I've had nightmares about Anita for 21 years, silently, not telling anyone about it, I wake up in the middle of the night and I hear her screaming - it's like been 'there' at the spot, seeing these dicheads going beserk on her - it's very frightening and still now, 40 years old, I still get nightmares.

She was conscious at the time of her death, as evidenced by her defensive wounds to the hands, but according to "Someone Else's Daughter" by Julia Shepherd, she was rendered unconscious by one of the many bashings she received from those slimebags- I can only hope that she had a few moments of merciful oblivion.

I had never heard about this crime until my Australian husband mentioned it to me last night. I wish he hadn't. I could not sleep after reading some of the details. But what I am feeling is immaterial to the suffering of poor, poor Anita and her family. I really will never understand why men rain down such hate on their fellow human beings. Calling them animals is an insult to animals. There are no adequate words in the English language to describe them.
