  • this reminds me of the movie dark night of the scarecrow, and also the johnny lee wilson case. i do beleave he did this though. GOD bless.

  • now this fucking 50 sumthing yr old fucking schizo who still lives with his mom in her basement is prolly wanking off to kiddie porn every day behind his computer. shudda kept da fucker locked up regardless.

  • This piece of shit legal system and all of its believer officers and judges need to be fired and tore down and the system rebuilt fromn scratch, and without the judeo Christian belief system playing a major factor this time.

  • Typical law enforcement, focus then railroad the most convenient suspect into submission with promises of going home if you confess.

What a fucking farce. Law EnFARCEment.... Dont get me started on the over-zealous district attorneys and prosecuters who dont give a shit about anyone but themselves. We're all criminals in their eyes until we are proven innocent. Dont think that this cant happen to you!

  • Very sad that this sort of thing happens to innocent people like John.

  • Lucky they finally realised this poor dude.

  • It would be better that 100 guilty men walk free, than to put 1 innocent man behind bars. Too bad our officers and detectives are too fixated on producing favourable statistics for their bosses to abide this golden thread of justice. I, for one, could never find it in my heart to badger someone into a false confession. Evidence, showing itself beyond a reasonable doubt, should not require such conduct.

  • He said 'you can't blame anyone'. BS. You can blame every single member of that jury for condemning someone on razor thin circumstantial evidence.

  • Indeed. People who screw up badly always are fond of saying, "You can't blame anyone" or "That's in the past and let's think of the future." The cops, the prosecutors, the psychologist, the judge, and the jury all suffered from The Emperor Has No Clothes syndrome, where one idiot believes something merely because the preceding idiot believed it, regardless of blatant evidence to the contrary. I've been on a jury myself; I was shocked at the spurious logic used by my fellow jurors.

  • I wonder how many other mentally ill, slow and/or immature people have been bullied or BS'ed into false confessions like Mr. Purvis was? At least in his case, justice was finally served.

  • You don't have to be "mentally ill, slow and/or immature" to be bullied into a false confession. It happens to normal people too. And complete justice is not fully served unless some of the authorities involved served jail time themselves, which I doubt they did.

  • im glad they caught the real killers.
