The lithium batteries will work in a tool that was originally designed for Ni-Cad but it'll look goofy. But I still think DeWalt did a cool move here.
The presenter should learn the difference between nickel metal-hydride and nickle-cadmium. He uses the term interchangeably, and they aren't the same. Also, all lithium-ion batteries DO have a drain after charging...it comes from the charge computer that must manage voltage levels within the battery.
de walt batteries are total CRAP, have 2 dc9180's that hold charge for 30 minutes maximum. Also when you activate and deactivate the drill like you do normally in everyday use the battery often will 'overtemp' or 'overcurrent' out for 10 or so seconds which is UBERANNOYING... SHAME ON YOU DEWALT for allowing such crap to be sold. Never again will I trust DW.
Why are DeWalt batteries the #1 selling item in the Home Depot Nationally in terms of sales dollars. Simply put. If DeWalt batteries were so good why does HD sell millions a year. Hmmm....
DeWalt batteries are crap, my makita will sink 100+ 3.5" deck screws on a full charge, DeCrap does only 50. Both drills are 1.3 amph 18volt nicad, my 12v DeDogPoo is rubbish as well. No more yankey drills for me. Nippon all the way.
Your problem is not your batteries it's your drill.... I've been using DeWalt XRP Hammerdrills and over a period of 3years, had to replaced them 3 times... Now I've switch to Milwaukee Hammerdrills and I'm at a 2 year period without having to buy another one... Sorry DeWalt... The only thing I like is the color of your products... Easier to find in the field!
went to buy a dewalt drill because i thought they were US made, turns out they are now in mexico like the rest of the dogfuckers and still want over 300 bucks for the drill that costed them crumbs so fuck you forever DEWALT i will buy a porter cable you son of a bitches, traitors to the people!!!!!! i will never spend another dime on your imported garbage, USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA, fucking traitors !!!!!!!

I believe that if you contact customer service about the tools that don't work with the lithium Ion battery they will fix them for you so that they do. I could be wrong but it is worth giving them a call.
If you bought that battery from us there is a 90 Day Money Back Guarantee. Otherwise these batteries are covered for 2 years on service and have a 3 year limited warranty through DeWalt.
What a stupid fuckin battery. Just stick to the Ni-Cad, if it aint broken, don't fix it! Cause in this case you only shit the bed.
