for 30 dollars one could just buy the cowboy-studios shoulder mount seen in one of the newer Indymogul vids. all you have to do is extend the arm mount as far from your face as possible and be sure to have a decent wide angle lense. same price, double the value becuase you now also have a shoulder mount.

wooden camera rig? mneh. i made my from steel and aluminum. better durability, more flexible. it does cost more, like 100$, and probably takes more work, and a longer shoot setup, but it allows much better shots (not just the same back and front this gives you). check out my test video of the rig.
