OMG I wish ma mom could hear you... stumbled across ur link, I have argued da whole point of "eat when hungry, not cuz its 12" 100s of times... lost about 25 pounds in 6 months but moms a doc so the whole argument arose ;)
Anyway, in case you own an an android phone (mayb available with iphone too) check out an app called "libra" just need to enter your daily weight and its shows a cool graph and projected date of meeting your target and so on, might help :) Thanks 4 ur vdo :)
Im rachael. Im of west indian decent - parents are from Guyana.
I always thought it was the "indian curse" to be hipcentric and I have a really big butt, and like you I was 152 lbs super muscular, til this day the two things that never slim down are my butt and legs bc I love squats! I just finished my BSN - congrats on med school! Nursing school put me at 168 im 146 now trying to be 120lbs im 5"3, my biggest culprit is my tummy. Any advice?
I like Dr Mercola. He has a lot of good advice on his website about health and nutrition. He shills his stuff a bit, but it's still good. The main thing is keep your sugar below 25 grams a day and 15 if you're trying to lose weight. The only way that is possible is cutting out all processed crap and even watching how much fruit you eat, even milk has a lot of sugar.
I'm kinda questioning the fact that you're in med school bc some of your so called "tips" don't make any physiological sense. A person can't just eat ONLY when their stomach is growling, thats actually called anorexia! You're pretty much telling people to starve themselves. A healthy diet consists of a few small meals throughout the day. Any idiot knows that, esp. someone whos supposedly in "med school". I'm sorry Rose, maybe you should do some more research next time.
She's probably not saying avoid every single carb, like veggies, fruits, and healthy oats. But processed carbs like bread, cake, pastries, rice and desserts. Most kinds are packed full of sugar and chemicals. They will metabolize a lot quicker than fruit or veggies, cause it has no fiber, which could turn into fat. Plus it won't even make u feel full.
@castanaenamorada well her methods work for her, maybe what u hav been doing keeps u healthy, but it might not work for everyone. She is a south indian, and they tend to be heavy or pudgy living the american lifestyle. Our bodies weren't built to eat heavy carbs and meats all the time. Also, half of my family suffers from diabieties. You probably feel u r totally right, but the norms of the western culture won't apply to every type of human being. There's no one method of becoming healthy.
Hun, skipping meals is awful advice - its really unhealthy for your body and your energy levels. (& definitely eat breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day to keep your hunger low)
Portion control (small portions at every meal), light snacking in between and exercise is KEY. -- I'm a hardcore athlete (5'6", 115 lbs) and those red flags went up while watching your video.
Ok dont listen to Angiesocca. Carbs are bad if you really want to lose weight. But your body needs something to burn off energy with, which is where protein and sugar comes in. Fruits and meat!! Carbs dont work. I started no car diet recently and lost 10lbs in two weeks. Since straying from my diet and since I've been eating rice and bread, I havent lost a single pound. But I restart my diet tomorrow. Goal: 145, wish me luck :)
@angiesocca101 you are absolutely right. I am sorry if I mispoke in the video. You definitely need carbs for normal metabolic function. However, I just keep my intake very low.
@pnkrk1039 you can definitely do it! A few months ago, I was in your exact shoes. I never thought I could do it, but look at me now! i did it! and so can you =)
i'm from pakistani - and as you said a lot of indian/pakistani are pure carbs! what do you do? cut back on chapatis, biryani and so on? and just eat the curry? like.. a bowl of daal is fine, but also chicken korma fx? could you please give me some examples? thanks :)
@xNeeluh i just ate curry by itself...no bread, no rice. So i'd have 2-3 vegetable curries and then a meat curry (my favorite is fish curry, or sometimes chicken curry)..so I'd always have some protein w/ each meal and alot of veggie curries to help fill me up
and i'd eat bad curries (like butter chicken and korma, etc) but in moderation; it was fine since i wasn't eating it w/ carbs

I'm 112 pounds and I'm 5'3,should I loose weight?

@NoMoreLiesAboutMeToo
HELL NO! You're a great weight for your size. If you lose any more weight you might be too skinny. Just tone your body if flabbyness is your problem.
