I agree because an anime liveactoin style is a new concept in anmerican filming and I'm as well a big fan to the old speed racer show this was perfect timing having this film finally been done.
I don't think this movie was made for fans of the original show. It feels more like someone trying to ressurect the past with a Pop-y flair, not my cup of tea either. For one thing, the guy playing Speed seems like hes got a huge stick up his ass or something with the glare and grimace he's always wearing =\ Could just be me though.
It was made for the fans. The Wachowskis are making Speed for the 21st century. When Speed first came out, that type of stuff was never seen before. Now if you do it exactly like the show, it'll be boring. Plus, it has all colors anime would have. It's a literal live-action cartoon. I think Emile looks great in the role.
Very well done. I been doing research for my blog to write posts comparing the TV series to the movie. I was dreading that there would be a recent updated version of the theme song that I knew I'd hate. Well, it's happened! Say NO to hip-hop Speed Racer theme 2008. Just not my cup of tea.
Love your video. Was hoping to embed it on my blog. Will link it.
This band, De Novo Dahl, did a cover that the Wachowski brothers rejected. You can look it up on their myspace or iTunes. I liked it, but I bet that was the reason they didn't take it. If they were gonna have a remake, they would probably opt for something really heavy or punky. Whatever, De Novo Dahl's version is really enjoyable.
This is cool. Amazing how some things fit, considering that the trailer wasn't made for the song. "Dangerous work to do" fits the areal crash perfectly, and the final "Goooooooooo!!!!" fits absolutely.
Thank you. Glad you liked it. At first I cut out all the non-racing parts try and make it like show, but the video was too short for the song. Maybe I'll try again if another trailer is released.
Yeah, I was hoping that the trailer was just going to be like the opening. I was also hoping that the poster was going to have Emile doing the stance Speed does at the the end of the opening. Oh, well.
I'm still hoping they come out with it. Or at least have it in the movie. Especially since the Wachowskis are doing it. They are the ones who showed that the stance could be done in live-action.
more like 22nd century.

I'm shocked that the original music from the old anime series fits so clean and it was perfectly done as well. Go Speed Racer Go.

The way the trailer fits in with the music, it almost looks like the brothers made it that way.

Thanks. I hope they play it on a radio or something during the film. I also want to see Speed do his famous stance.
The new version is... ok. It could be worse.

...They should make a more intense version of this song..it's too mellow for the movie.

The original trailer would've been so much better like this instead of with that tacky techno music
