Absolutely!! I think Aretha Live at the Fillmore is her best live recording -- with that amazing band backing her. Curtis & Aretha's albums together?? Musta been a heluva night fersher...............
now ad Queen Re Frankin on top of that and you on trouble man. And if you reeeeeal crazy serve up with Brother Rev Ray Charles. Undo your top button and get involved.
if you play this as the opening track of a dj set, you will always win over the crowd -- killer band, killer song, killer performance, killer atmosphere!
Respond to this video... I have been listening to, and emulating King and the guys for nearly 50 years. This piece is like a beautiful painting or a really good meal. Lots of quality ingredients. Every now and then some tasteful sound or color will burst out onto your musical palate. Listen to the Bass run -line just at the end of the Piano piece. You don't enjoy this stuff! As my Grandson of four years, going on forty, would say, "You savor it"

Curtis Audsley was shot and killed in front of his apartment in NYC at the top of his game. A senseless holdup that ended the carer of a great young artiest in his prime, and took away our jobs, and best friend! to this very day, I still can't believe this happened!
....probably more sampling from this tune than from any other...."fatback drums", "boiling Memphis guitar", and of corse, Billy Preston...Oh My Gawd!!!
the best, the best, the best!!!!!!! funky, funky, funky, funky!!!!! thank you sososo much for posting these amazing musicians!!!!!!!!!
