  • I never leave comments, but for this track I most certainly would. Great band, great track from a great album. I had a pigeon hole T-shirt for years, until one day I found that my ex-wife had turned it into dusters as it was full of holes. I did say ex-wife. I know life goes on, but I miss that T-shirt.

  • hands down the most underrated bands ever.i only saw them once and couldnt believe how tight they were live considering how complicated the music is.if you dont like this you should have your ears removed cause they are not working anyway.brilliant.timeless

  • Fuck ye, now thats real music, easily the most underated band of the 90's

  • It's quite difficult to get shots like that at the moment. The tourists keep getting in the way whilst they are flying through the blue sky.

  • always wondered if the desert grows references the documentary Vernon, Florida?

  • I PUT MY PAIN IN A JAR ! IT WILL BE FULL TOMORROW !!!! FUCKING CLASS THE DESERT GROWS 3 MILES A YEAR IT JUST GROWS

  • Nice guys...opened for them @ the marque in NYC...always loved this song

  • Feel the love!

  • Big tune, sitting in my room boxed out of my mind listening to this in 1990 and waiting for next gig.........happy days!

  • I love this, I haven't heard it in years. This was a golden era for music out of the North. I wouldn't get too rose-tinted specs about this time though, Manchester had more than it's fair share of shootings and stabbings back then.

  • i'm 20 and have been brought up on this stuff man, not every 'youth' has shit, mainstream music taste. I know my shit going back to 60's. Get educating people man, I do everyday.

  • Great summers, no hasstle, no idiots...just good music and plenty of smoke...and er .....Spike Island???

  • Well said stesh. Fine days. Madchester, all that - and across the UK, especially the north, the tasteful melodies and decent atmosphere. Mind you, you still had to look out for the "townie", or "casual" thick-as-shit cowards, even then.

  • Brings me back to the days of snub TV, getting stoned on a summers eve and just loving the tunes. Thanks for putting this up. I'd lost the old VCR tape with this on it.

  • love the fads :)

  • what a tune !!! takes me right back smokin solids trippin on acid !!!! fuckin tune !!!!

  • what a tune takes me right back when music was music !!!! nice one !!!

  • Fucking amazing!

  • proper bo. back to 1990. Those were the days. Chilled out, safe vibe. Not like scum youth of today

  • You know thats right mate!!!!

  • @steshea yeah because there was never any trouble back then....try googling "shootings Hacienda"....can anyone say "rose tinted glasses"

  • @steshea

I am a 'young scum' of today and i love these guys...your theory is totally twisted

  • @steshea "scum youth of today"? i've got news for you and those who gave you a thumbs up: even though you are able to appreciate good music from over 20 years ago: you have allowed yourself to become OLD. this means the "scum youth" WIN!!! and you better believe NFAD were considered the scum youth of their day.

(i turned 40 this year, BTW)

  • @latexprem beat it punk

  • @latexprem Thank you for revealing to these narrow minded fools, the role they are now playing in society. They have become OLD ,just as you say.Just as we had to look deeper to find the gems of music in our day(like NFAD),so too our children who choose to search today are met with their musical gems(tame impala, soft moon, animal collective etc.)Good music never rises to the top(thats pop)it must be delved into.BTW I'm 49

  • i always loved the nfad.

if any of you citizens of her majesty, the queen might like to enlighten a yank: what city is that ?

  • Edinburgh, Scotland

  • Fits in nicely with the whole madchester thing of around the same time.

  • Me and my pals Wayne and Mark stonned aged 16/17 listening to this summer 89 or 90 in our flares..lol..they were the days ah lads. H/H

  • ah 1990 night fishing with the lads listening to happy daze vol 1 ,magic

  • @raveyDavey74 fucking hell i thought we were the only ones who did that, spot on.

  • @raveyDavey74 you sure you caught anything with the bass and hash? The pike was probably into a bit of the new fads too..

  • @cheechforprez

Fishes eyes tell no lies ;)

  • @eckmacdonald

    Doh got the quote wrong.:(

  • Nice Video!!!

  • Thank you for posting!!! I'm remembering my big red Sanyo personal tape player stashed in the pocket of my parker and grey, rainy 5 o'clockish rides home from school on the upstairs of a double decker bus in which you couldn't breath for cigarette smoke. Those were indeed the days. Peace!

NFADS at the Ritz Manchester. one of the best gigs ever

  • Shit this takes me back, quick give me a couple of love doves quick.Great song cheers for uploading

  • Saw the NFADs live in the Venue in Cardiff back in the day. Small venue - big band. Probably the best band I've seen live. Incredible energy that was never fully captured in the studio. If only they had had someone like Martin Hannett to produce them. Had to leave the gig early because this dumb blonde I was trying to __ didn't like them. Big regret that. She was a crap ___ too.

  • Are these fellas from Manchester? If so, I'm proud of them!

  • Certainly are. God's own city, God's own band.

  • Sorry, mate, it's me again. Just listening to new fads again in the sun and drinking lots of beer!

Your saying, "God's own city", is fucking great. I don't live in God's city anymore but my brother and our friends are using it after me telling 'em!

So if you hear it (assuming yer in God's city) then you'll know where it came from......YOU!

    Nice one mate.

  • Comment removed

  • heard this iv 89.

  • omg,,, cant believe ive heard this again!

  • Nostalgia trip!!!!!

I was working in a hotel kitchen as a lowly kitchen porter and this music was pretty much all that kept me going! :D

I went to see them at the Ritzy in Manchester, it was magic!

  • Thanks!

  • brilliant thanks

  • They all had short hair. Saw them play a fest once and the singer remarked all the f*cking students should all get their f*cking hair cut. Top stuff!

  • Saw these in 91. They supported the Charlatans at the RAH. Everyone went mental when they played this.

  • Saw them in 91 too! Totaly blew me away. Danced like a demented monkey blinded with the sweat in my eyes, then had a beer with their bass player.

  • Happy days, eh?

  • The best 19, and working away from home in a strange country going to amazing gigs!

  • Saw them in the melkweg in Amsterdam in 92. Happy memories!
