"Mom, I think dad will be back soon," is a nod to the book; Giovanni's dad's missing and he awaits his return. The space theme's from the start of the movie where Giovanni's asked "If you looked through a telescope what would you see?" The movie is well worth a watch.

これはやっぱり銀河鉄道の夜とリンクしてるような気がするのは俺だけじゃないはず。
全くの別物と考えるのもいいと思うけれど、これは愛してた人が遠く（＝天国）に行ってしまい、そこに会いに行く、という歌なんじゃないかな。
実際に銀河鉄道も、天国に行く途中の話だったような気がするんだが…
まあ個人的な意見なんで違ってたり反論があったりしたらごめんなさい
