  • I swear, your songs are pure awesomeness!

  • How long have you played guitar

  • @Jok3rCoLor3dFooL At the time I recorded this cover I had been playing for about 7 years.

  • This is freaking awesome.

  • almost 100,000 views, must watch 100 more times!

  • unbelievable dude.. it's awesome:P

  • At this part of the game i always wanted a time limit so you could kill Midna.

  • I love this cover bro. It melts my heart away every time. I actually based a song of my own on Midna's Desperate Hour after I heard you play it. Also, I LOVE your sliding.

  • Oh my gosh that was amazing! Good job!!!

  • slide guitar sounds rawww, good job man

  • It has an interesting difference from the ingame original, but I like it. a lot.

  • Did you plug in your Taylor or is it recorded through a mic?

  • @Kostas1601 I record all of my acoustic guitars with the built-in preamps, I don't use any mics at all :)

  • i love this song

  • My life JUST got better! Wow!

  • I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever seen anyone play guitar with a bottle ._. But it certainly does add an interesting effect to the sound.

  • For some reason this even sounds great at 1.5x speed!

  • great

  • you sir, are incredible.

  • Sounds Opethy...

  • @WileySniper The picking pattern for the little arpeggio at the beginning when it goes up is basically all down picks, except for the last note. When it goes down again it's down, up, down, up, down, down. Feel free to use your own pattern though if that feels better. As for the playing pattern, you should take a look at the tab which you can download from my website: CSGuitar89. com. Good luck!

  • @WileySniper It's practice indeed but also dedication ;) Practice really is the only way to get better at anything though and (maybe unfortunately) it takes a lot of time...

  • @CSGuitar89 My mind doesn't comprehend how the stupidest bullshit on Youtube gets millions of views, but pure art doesn't get enough recognition.

  • @WileySniper Yeah, the easiest way to play the rhythm part is to use a drop D tuning. Just tune down the low E a whole step, that's all :)

  • its stuff like this that reminds me why i love Zelda games so much

  • 1:02 <3

  • my respects to you... very good creation! Thank you brother!

  • This is one of the sadest parts in the game... especially when you're going through castle town, with everybody scared of you

  • this song makes for the most beautiful oscilloscope i have ever seen

  • CAN I BE YOU?

    I WANT TO BE YOU.

  • this is fucking epic man i love this song

  • sounds like you do the first, the acoustic guitar intro to what looks like a piano

  • that's brillant xD

  • nigga uses a bottle. shoot. You are my idol.

  • I think there's a fairy in that bottle...

  • I love you.

  • 2:30 - 2:40.

    Fuck yeah.

  • @WileySniper Yes, to play the rhthym part especially you need to tune in drop D

  • Fun fact. Old school blues players would actually cut off the top of glass bottles and put them on their fingers to get that sliding effect.

  • this is probably the most badass version I've heard of this song, lovin the beer bottle technique

  • It was good, but I disagree with the "warped" notes at the beginning. They were unnecessary..this is a sad song and should have flat notes. other than that, I enjoyed the vcover!

  • man, you´re a genious lol

  • Shiny :D @ 0:32

  • eargasm

  • i didnt know u can do that with a beer bottle

  • amazing

  • ill subscribe and like your videos if you do kingdom hearts music!

  • wow this sounds great well done!

  • Better than original. You are a genius for making all these

  • you are my hero

  • That Taylor looks so beautiful in this video...

  • 3 people never got past the part where you have to stop the runaway Ordon goat.

  • CSGuitar89, Jam2995, TheDelRe, are all the best GUITAR game coverists on youtube.

  • 3 Disklikes = Zant, Ganon, and that fat orc that you slay on the bridge.

  • HAHAHA playing guitar with a beer botle

  • @TheHeadshooter1997 Ghetto Slider

  • @liligman Its a awesome idea ^^

  • wat program did u use PLZ anser

  • @MrJstone2000 My digital audio workstation (DAW) with which I record everything is GarageBand. Furthermore I use POD Farm to create my guitar tone and EZdrummer to program the percussion tracks. Oh and I edit my videos in iMovie HD.

  • @MrJstone2000

try reading the description. 9/10 times it will always have something you're looking for

  • Now this is five in the morning music.

  • I remember this part in twilight princess.

  • so why did he use the bottle?

  • @TheBiggamer64 as a slide, to make the sliding tone dirtier. ;)

  • @MetalsonicX7 Ah I see. By the way CSGuitar89, my favourites are when you play Clock Town, as well as the two mario galaxy themes. SO good.

  • @TheBiggamer64 and... why not?

  • @TheBiggamer64 I didn't have a regular slide lying around at the time so I figured the beer bottle would work pretty well instead ;)

  • @CSGuitar89

    *facepalm*

during band rehearsal i allways put my slide aside, take my beer, put it back and take my slide again...

how much time we can safe now!!!

  • @CSGuitar89 that was more skilles to use a beer bottle over a slide

  • @CSGuitar89

    Crafty! xD

  • @CSGuitar89 What guitars and pedals etc. did you use in the video?

  • @randomstuff147 You can find all the guitars I used in the description. As for the effects, I record directly so I don't use any 'real' pedals. Instead I use Line 6' POD Farm, an amp simulation plugin, to create my guitar tones. Anyway, in this video I used compression, some reverb, delay and distortion/overdrive for the lead guitars.

  • @CSGuitar89 way more stylish, in my opinion.

  • @CSGuitar89 ROFL! I laughed at the beer bottle.

  • this video is like an eargasm aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

  • I love this :D You sir, are truley talented, You deserve more views!

  • holy shit this is awesomeee

  • holy shit! I opened this up and was like, pff, as if this wont be any good at all.

    MIND BLOWN.

  • gotta love your clean sound!

  • Dude... did you just you a beer bottle as a slide? You've just added a whole new dynamic to my guitar playing... And my drinking. Awesome!

  • holy shit dude!! your amazing!!!

  • he must be asian ò.ó

  • This is fucking brilliant!

  • I hated running into enemies cause the battle music began playing and couldnt hear this song -.-

  • lmao palying with bottle...

  • This cover makes me cry :')

    Men!, you are incredible! :'D

  • You are by far the best guitar player covering game songs on the web. I seriously admire your talent.

  • Dude, that bottle actually sounds better than any slide I've ever heard.

Bottles, why didn't I think of that?

  • I love how you didn't go balls to the wall with this video. It's fantastic. Thank you.

  • I don't wanna bug you or anything with this, but could you do a tutorial with the lead guitar? I'm a 16 year old girl with a guitar that doesn't know how to tune it the way you did, I don't know how to read tabs and I have trouble following your picking and fingers on the video. This is my very first time playing a guitar, so I need a lot of help with this. Please help?

  • @GangreenGangBunny123 theres tabs in the description x) automatic download just by clicking the name of the song.

  • @YoshiTheAsian Yeah, I know. But like I said, I don't know how to read tabs. ^^'

  • @GangreenGangBunny123 but....tabs are specifically meant for beginners! haha. it shows the 6 strings and the frets to push down on. you literally cant get any easier than that xP

  • @YoshiTheAsian Well, like I said, this is my very first time with a guitar. So... I don't know. lol

  • @GangreenGangBunny123 remember, google is your friend x)

  • @YoshiTheAsian Yeah, I know.

  • @GangreenGangBunny123 I can definitely see how a video tutorial can be useful, but unfortunately at the moment I don't really have the time to make those and rather work on new material. I just hope that with the tabs, mp3s and backing tracks people will be able to learn it. I would strongly recommend to learn how to read tabs though since it'll make it a lot easier to learn songs and improve your playing. I'm sure that you can find some great tutorials on Google. Hope this helps :)

  • @CSGuitar89 Thanks, I hope I do find something that will help me learn how to play guitar, read tabs and play this song. But if you someday can find the time to make a tutorial, that'd be great too.

  • @GangreenGangBunny123 I actually recently learned to play this with the tabs posted on his website, and some help from the guy I take lessons from. Just take it one small step at a time and practice little bits, you dont even have to play it sliding, just do regular strums first. If you don't know how to read tabs I would definately reccomend trying to find a place to take lessons, it can really help in a big way.

    Hope some of this helps!

  • My favorite song in the game by far. Great cover!

  • thank you for this =) wonderful cover of a wonderful song!

  • Im guessing you have been playing for a while, im just wondering do you have any formal training in theory or ear training? Or do you just pick it up along the way?

  • @superoboe300 For the first 1,5 years I took lessons and I did study some theory although at that time I wasn't really skilled enough to go in depth on that. Most of it is just a lot of experience, training and getting to know the fretboard :)

  • Ganondorf, Zant, and the Evil Spirit that gave zant power Disliked this Video

  • @Goku2467 Don't wanna seem a dick here, but the evil spirit WAS Ganondorf.

  • @Midna12345 oh lol :P

  • AMAZING!!

  • dude i dont know how you play this but i like to make a sugestin in the end of the game the final boss music is cool look it up cant wait

  • you would not believe how much fun i had with a beer bottle after watching this

  • your covers are FREAKIN' AMAZING!!!!!!!111

  • So many good memory's! Midna FTW!

  • And to think that if it hadn't been for Chuggaaconroy, I might never have found this channel...

  • do you do this with sheet music or by ear

  • @Shaneman2031 I think he said in a comment on another video that 75% is by ear.

  • @Shaneman2031 I always figure all the leads and about 75% of the rhythms out by ear because it's a great way to improve yourself as a musician. For fast parts or tracks that are difficult to hear, I use either sheet music or a midi.

  • Using a bottle for guitar? I never knew u could do that

  • beer bottle danny gatton style

  • This song always makes me uncontrollably sad. It's like you can't help but feel Midna's lament portrayed in the music.

  • Can't wait to play skyward sword

  • and also in the minute 1:28 the rain gets stronger x. x

  • funny thing is that I hear on my iPod and suddenly it's raining like a flood

  • Sexiest thing I've ever heard in my life. You sir, ARE A GOD.

  • It sounds nice but it isn't the same as in piano

  • I just came......

  • @ChewBaccsMusic >.> i might have aswell

  • it sounds so cool on guitar!!!

  • @CSGuitar89 Hey, bro. Do you mind if I sample this for a beat?

  • @ChewBaccsMusic Not at all! I would very much appreciate it though if you could give me some credit in the description of the video or something ;)

  • @CSGuitar89 Of course. Thank you.

  • @CSGuitar89 I'll send you the beat if you wish, so you can hear it?

  • Dude this is beast, eargasm

  • no need for rainy mood for this since there is no rain in the old west :D

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!

  • could be my speakers, but I rarely hear bass in any of your videos?

  • @DobermanSouth Haha, well I do turn up the volume of the bass fairly high, but for some reason it doesn't really stand out in the overal mix. Could be my tone or playing, although I kind of like the fact that it becomes part of the rhythm tone and creates a nice solid backing track. In my more recent videos I worked on my bass tone to try to make it more audible.

  • kewl.

  • LOL beer bottle as the slider. FTW! XD

  • thumbs up if this blows your mind

  • @7chidori77 why can I only thumbs up once!? X-P

  • @alanblaze thanks

  • just great dude :)

  • Comment removed

  • I miss Midna.

  • how do you manage to pick notes so quickly without hitting another string?

  • @trogdor526 practice

  • @trogdor526 Yeah, indeed just a lot of practice ;) When you want to improve your accuracy though, it's important to pick a certain piece or passage that you have problems with, use a metronome and start off slow and gradually speed it up when you can play it clean. Hope that helps.

  • @CSGuitar89 as my guitar teacher all the greats were amazing slow players as they were fast players take away all of the effects on guitar players today and ask them to play slow see how much they screw up take things slow then go fast

  • Dude, I've watched TWO videos from you. *Subscribe* lol. Amazing, love this rhythm.

  • Beautiful cover, mate

Quick question, would you recommend the Cort Z44? I've actually been considering getting one for the longest time, but I'm still a bit iffy on my decision.

    Thanks :D

  • @cavedweller1996 Thanks! Oh yeah I can definitely recommend the Cort. It's a really great guitar that's also pretty affordable. Both the sound and the build quality are amazing, so yeah if you're looking for a versatile guitar you should consider the Z44.

  • sliding with a bottle. Awesomeness

  • 1:00 = the awesomeness kicks in<3 lol

    What pedal do you use?

  • @nluvwithlayne07 I think I just used a distorted amp with a little bit of chorus, delay and reverb :)

  • i don't necessarily care for the sliding part..

    but still job well done.

  • Fricken awesome......

  • I think I'm in love...

  • You have WAY too much free time. Great video though!

  • Awesome dude. Keep up the good work! :D

  • so awesome

  • Thank you so much for putting your tabs on your website. You're amazing. And I love the sound of your taylor. What model is it?

  • @wtrad Thanks, glad you like it :) It's a Taylor 110ce.

  • @CSGuitar89 Yeah I think that's the one my friend has. I covet it. The tone is just amazing.

  • really beautiful rendition

  • I love how use the bottle as a slide.

  • zant made three acounts and disliked tis but its awsome 0-0 i tried lerarning gitar but falied

  • Nice cover men!!! in the eginning sounds like a wild west song but the tunes are sweeet men!!!!!

  • so... amazing... (speechless)

  • genius... a beer bottle for a slide...

  • omg thats cool! using a beer bottle as a "wavy thing?"

  • hi, I've got a question and I know it's hard for you to answer every single question, but in case you have the time, here it is: you seem to be experienced in recording and I have a problem: I want to record my western guitar Cort SFX-5 using the toneport line 6 ux2(with ableton live), but the high notes sound.. really like shit. they are too quiet and if I use a compressor to make it louder, they sound even worse, like a high shredding. do you have any idea why? btw great intonation
