  • was just wondering, can the optical mode in viewfinder being used to focus ? (sorry, maybe someone already asked the question) Big THANKS

  • @MrOkw1 The OVF has information overlay that will provide focus points with confirmation when AF is on. If you are referring to MF, then it would be difficult as you will only have the Focus Distance scale to work with. In such case, the EVF should be used instead.

  • Not having a diopter adjustment is not a "new addition" mate. It is a new omission.

  • @PaleBlueDotCitizen True. The omission of the diopter adjustment is for design/aesthetic. The viewfinder will be sticking out 1cm if a diopter was added. The viewfinder does have a thread of 19mm. You can purchase 3rd party correction lens.

  • love this camera.... only one bad, very bad thing. it is going to be about 1400 pounds in the uk only for the camera body.. and more than 500 quid for the lens. sad... but still i might go for it.

awesome... can not wait for the reviews and i hope they are great.

hope the quality is worth its price, unlike leica as some people claim that it is not as good...

  • Very nice, and great review. I'm excited to see how this focuses. The focusing speed has always been the Achilles heel of my fuji x100

  • how much is it ??

  • @shelajet Body $1700 SRP, 18mm $600, 35mm $600, 60mm $650 SRP

  • Can the film simulation mode be used for video too?

    thanks.

  • ooooohhh... the diopter adjustment... come on guys.

  • @MobiusCoin Please note that the absence of the diopter adjustment was a design choice as a built-in would add approx 1cm sticking out of the camera. The thread is 19mm and is common. Gives you the ability to add your own rubber eye piece, L shaped eye piece, etc...

  • Also guys I have the Typical Shutterbug Podcast and would love to have you guys come on and talk about this camera and lenses.

  • @vmc1010 Please send us a private message with your contact information.

  • Yes I mean the framing lines, but I also mean just some of the focusing issues that people like RC had with the X100 and not being able to get things he was pointing at in Focus. I'm very excited but have never owned a Fuji before and don't want to be disappointed at this price range.

  • @vmc1010 Focusing is improved over X100.

  • Question (looking for feedback here).Fuji X-Pro 1 will suffer from the same OVF issues that were seen in the X100? I plan to make this my next purchase and I'm looking for people who have used the X100 in order to make a more informed decision.

  • @vmc1010 OVF issue? Do you mean AF/Framing lines being corrected or minimal focus distance. Focus has been improved over the X100 .

  • Awesome!!! I have the x100 and love it!

if you like black and white photography please google ADORE NOIR

    Cheers!

  • I wouldn't call the removing of diopter function an addition :)

  • WOW nice camera look cool design

  • While I believe the focusing will be better than the X100, can you confirm the overall speed of use will be a lot quicker. One thing I found with the X00, when using it at a wedding, it takes a long time to take two shots in row. You cannot keep the shutter button half pressed to keep the selected focus and keep shooting. You have to refocus for every shot which makes it impossible to get several shots if there is a lot of action. The problem is heightened in low situations.

  • When will there be a firmware update for the x100 that irons out those silly niggles?

I am a X100 owner and don't want feel left out in the cold as you focused on the X-Pro 1. Share the love and make the X100 a better camera to own. You know it makes sense Fuji!

I bought the X100 as an experiment. I am a wedding photographer and find 10 hours with two 5D MKII's can be quite tiring. I want/need a good quality, lightweight professional system. Show me what I could have with the X-Pro 1!!!

  • @dcphotographic Please be patient. Very soon. and then please be patient again.

  • Is there gonna be more updates for the x100? we are still waiting for auto iso to be embedded within the ISO menu

  • @foodmore Please be patient. Some minor fix first.

  • @BoxxyFan As a potential customer in the market for exactly this kind of camera Fuji I would be very interested in an explanation please.

  • Sample for review for fellow Canadian? :D

  • needs to be weather sealed...

  • What does the shutter sound like?

  • @jasonsmithdotcom You can watch the Fuji Guys Focal Plane Shutter video to hear for yourself. Just a video to demo the sound but everyone is commenting on the shutterlag they see. Shutterlag is less than DSLR.

  • how's the MF compared to the X100? Did they make any changes?

  • @shockifyed The sample i used was still a prototype so much of the functions were not operational / final. I will of course demo this feature once i receive the latest pre-production sample.

  • Any chance that fuji is going to release a silver or gun metal grey version. IMO, black looks more modern but I prefer the classic silver and bare metal look.

  • @jackkjhsu Currently, there are no plans for other colour variations. When we released the X100, almost instantly, everyone was asking for an all black model. We recently announced the limited edition Black version of the X100, now i don't hear anyone cheering??

  • Is it manuel focus only?

  • @MrYerbaMate1 You have the choice Auto Focus, Continuous AF, and MF using the Fujinon XF Lens.

  • Hello quick questions from me, can you make the iso to increment in 1 full stop instead? How's the autofocus speed compare to a modern dslr?

  • @nicholaschinphoto ISO Full Stop = No. I had a prototype model so AF was not working properly.

  • @fujiguys Thanks for the reply and again for the great video, can't wait for the release.

  • is the focusing ring direct focus or focus by wire like the x100?

  • @willteeyang Focus by wire but improved over the X100

  • Is timelapse possible

  • @Hapefra There is no Timelapse setting however there are threads on the shutter release to attach a cable release.

  • Comment removed

  • what is the price?

  • @ehilado06 Pricing hasn't been official confirmed yet.

  • i like it ...

  • can you release the firmware for x100 to add ISO auto enable-disable in fn button?

  • @rslllk I have also recommended Tokyo such updates to be made with the ISO button. I hope they listen too.

  • AF is very disappointing. Hopefully FUJI will releasea firmware to upgrade its AF speed.

  • Yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada... fuji guys...?

  • does the camera work?

how can you review a camera WITHOUT taking a shot

  • @maximme the title says preview. dumbass

  • @maximme It was a preview on a prototype version. Pressing the shutter button, the camera would freeze and lockup. Even the Video mode locked up on me. I wanted to quickly show you some of the new menu operations. Look for the Top Features video for more detail info on features (working on it, but awaiting a camera with close to final firmware).

  • The silence on AF is pretty telling. If it was a strength they would be talking it up as a selling point. If it was decent they would mention it. If it totally sucks they will ignore all of the questions about it. If you don't have anything good to say...... Don't say anything.

  • @TheSycloneX The camera was a prototype so pressing the shutter button, camera would freeze. Also, pressing halfway down, it took 30 secs for a focus (if i was luck). This video is just a preview of some of the new menu/operations/looks of the camera. When i have a close to final firmware available, i will work on the Top Features video which will show more.

  • @fujiguys Any chance of some type of focus "peaking" for MF lenses like what Sony uses? Thank you for your reply.

  • @TheSycloneX I will definitely push for this feature.

  • Well you certainly have everyone talking.

  • Аццтой... бабы это зло

  • I love the X-100 and I'm sure this is way better. I want one w/ all the lenses!

  • Not full frame. What a gigantic disappointment.

  • Improvement for future X models

    - dedicated ISO button.

    - dedicated video shooting button.

    - Add continous shooting mode 6fps and 3fps to the power dial so instead of just the on and off, we would have Off, S (single), CF (continuous fast), CL (continuous slow), and possibly V (for engaging the video mode and allowing the shutter button to act as record button).

  • Part 2

    3. Raw file write speed: How fast is it compared to X100? Is the file buffer big enough this time to allow continuous shooting?

    4. Video mode: Does it allow full control over parameters such as focus (AF or MF), aperture, shutter, and ISO, and possibly taking still photo while shooting the video?

  • Thanks for the video Billy. Wondering if you could shed some light on the following?

    1. AF Operation in low light and low contrast situation: How is it compared to X100? On X100 it hunts quite frequently and often unable to focus in low light.

    2. Manual Focus: Could you the MF operation on the X-Pro1? On X100, numerous full rotations of the focusing ring are require to reach inifinity, and this makes MS nearly unusable in most cases.

  • @jackkjhsu 1. Faster than X100, 2. Better than X100, 3. Not tested but might be similar to X100, 4. No change to X100 (have asked to add improvements including manual controls.

  • @fujiguys Thanks. I appreciate your response.

  • Auto ISO option between the (L) and the (H) option!!! Thank You Fuji!!!! At last. Wil X100 get the same in some upgrade? :)

  • @topsoulinbox I have asked Tokyo for continued improvements. We have to sit and wait if they do it or not.

  • @fujiguys Thank You :) I hope they will.

  • oh, no separate button for video taking?

  • Anybody else wanted him to stop talking and start taking photos with the thing?

  • that pc connecter cap is gonna be lost really fast

  • Is he just nervous or too excited?

  • Kudos to your Japanese slave masters. I am very excited about this camera.

  • No really you made me go through all 20 mins of talk and no show of actual potential, this is a blinking stupid approach

  • bladidblah what sells this is the much needed AF-speed and the ironing out of Raw-wite speeds.

  • I would really like to see how well it focusses manually. And of course the AF isn't going to be it's strongest point. This camera isn't meant for fast moving subjects. It's more for street photography, dinners/parties, travel etc. If you want something with fast AF get a freakin DSLR.

  • looks like a really good camera but this video comes of as a spec sheet read off. we want to see real world examples and scenarios.

  • somehow.. i m more interested in the female model in the pictures than the camera.. hah...

  • The guy who previewed this camera should go back to school, to improve his communication skills. Half of the time I spent watching this and the previous videos, was wasted by a series of inarticulate "again", "of course", "as I mentioned", "you know" words that I would have rather avoid listening over and over again. The previewer circled around the core features of this camera, using useless and improvised sentences, and he didn't fully cover the X_Pro1 potentials.

  • Any chance for adding the Q menu, iso selection menu set up and the 2 new film simulations to the X100 firmware update?

  • @arttao I have asked at least for the additional tabs in setup and the FN button to be customizable. I am crossing my fingers, please do the same.

  • I was waiting for him to have to turn the focus ring 500 times to manually focus. The AF area still looks far too large, probably the same poor focusing system. Hey, at least they seem top have managed to move auto ISO into the ISO menu?

  • This is porn.

  • pls talk about shutter sound and AF

as well as RAW write speed and camera lock up after that :)

  • it's time to save "again " some money,.after purchased A Ridiculous Product [GX1] from my saving ,I think ,"I'm ready to switch to Fuji X Pro and will leave M43 and sale all my M43 gear

  • After the 9 months of using the X100, I'm quite worrying about the AF performance of this camera, especially while there's not a single word about it from the official site or the promotional/news articles yet.

If the AF performance is not improved more than "enormously" from the X100, then it's still gonna be a big turn off.

  • The X100 and X10 had major issues in the AF system, he didnt mention that they done anything abt it.

  • Well done Billy.

  • Is it possible to shut that lcd screen and use the optical viewfinder only and get the most important information.

  • Go Full Frame Fuji! Give us Focus Peaking for manual lenses and an articulating screen like the Nikon Coolpix 8400!

  • Any chance of a snap focus mode, like Ricoh does?

  • @regularchickens Now that's a nice feature of the GRD IV, would be awesome to have it on a Fuji X camera.

  • @regularchickens No Snap focus mode but there is a distance scale just like X100 where you can set up your own hyper focal range (i guess not as fast/convenient like Ricoh)

  • Dang it, you guys should have shown the autofocus speed.

  • @xxbluejay21 in a pre-production model?!

  • Is it possible to remove that thin hand grip on the left? I prefer a camera body flat.

  • @cyberprimate No.

  • Magnificent !!! Bravo Fuji!!! You made an incredible camera.

  • Comment removed

  • Please show how fast the camera focuses automatically. Also, I'd like to see how to focus manually which is interesting when using legacy lenses.

  • as an X100 owner..damn i want that menu system! update our Firmware please Fuji :D u nailed it with the xpro1 !

  • I bet the noise from the shutter is horrible, as they don't PUSH it!?

  • Hmm, no single word about AF makes me think that this is not the strengh of the new Fuji.

  • @naturfokussiert in a pre-production model?!

  • I sure hope for the same lens as the X100...35mm eq is essential...28, 35 and 50 is all i need....go fuji...

  • Love the Q menu and Function button. Very well done!

  • Hey Billy, please do a video showcasing the shutter sound/volume. maybe a comparison with the X100 or X10. How quiet a camera sounds is my top feature, and I love my X100 for it.

So far the X-Pro1 looks amazing, thank you for doing these videos, keep em coming.

  • -Billy, Please talk about the silent mode in the X-PRO1. Besides turning off the flash and beeps, is the silent mode making use of an electronic shutter instead of the focal plane one?

  • damn i love the Q button! plz update the x100 firmware to become somewhat similar to this, perhaps the Fn button to become the Q button!

  • Wow, Fuji.

You really did listen to what people want.

This is what I like about you guys.

Keep up this great work and keep listening to what the customer wants. That is what makes you a better manufacturer than others.

Oh and this X-Pro1 is just one sexy camera.

  • AF-speed and shutter-sound/volume please, nothing else really matters.

  • Hi, you never talked about how fast the autofocus is? Is it slow like the X100? Also, the camera seems to respond faster than the X100, is that true?

  • @1jcc It's faster than X100. Current prototype i used for this video takes 30 secs for focus (not working properly). I am told final firmware/model will be alot faster than X100.

  • @fujiguys That's strange, the preliminary reviews seem to suggest that it has the same focusing response time as the X100. At least when taking stills. I wonder who's right?
