I wonder what Brian Moore had in his pipe!!?? Seriously, he had a lot to do with taking football to masses and it is almost ten years exactly since he passed away - RIP Brian!
@converse91970 He died on the day England beat Germany 5-1. He would have loved that. I don't bother with modern football now, I just watch old stuff like this. even before I started really getting into the game, I used to think if Brian Moore was commentating it must be a big match.
@45collector Well said. He always looked so immaculate, and so easy of front of the camera. Although he was considered ITV's best commentator in the 70s and 80s, I do think World Cup coverage on that channel was never the same once he stopped being the anchorman for those tournaments in 1990. Elton Welsby, Nick Owen, Matthew Lorenzo and Steve Rider just could not match up to his authoritive presence. "Its up for grabs nowwwwwww".....lol!
