I was watching you tube videos of the late Mr. Butch of Kenmoore Square in Boston and this song came to me like I'd heard it yesterday-I'd forgotten it since 78-SMOOTHE!!!
Ending my school education... 1978... I still hear this song almost everyday, precisely yesterday I was laughing at the lyrics with my 13 years old daughter while we were in my car... Funny, rythmical, so caribbean styled... Timeless!
I remember liking this song but never really caught the lyrics. I read on Wikipedia that it's based on a story about a member of the Moody Blues on holiday in Jamaica. I love the end of the song when he's back at the pool and an island beauty gets him hard, high and laid in short order, so the song has a happy ending, after the earlier "Stranger in a Strange Land" episode. I don't know of any other song with the lyrics "don't you queer me pitch". Gotta love it. There's several versions here.
Hm, I dont see any dreadlocks, but I think Eric has done something that looks like a perm - by all means - I did the same back then :-) Great song. I don´t like it - I love it!
I see 3 guitars but no bass..

Yes, Stuart Tosh - he joined the band in April 1977. The other drummer, Paul Burgess, is playing percussion on this clip.

By the way who is the guy on keyboards?

Duncan Mackay (ex-Cockney Rebel). He joined the band in early 1978 (replacing Tony O'Malley).
