Sadly there is little that can be done about scamers, and that is life. RM is simply a forum for people that want to trade items. You can usually get a pretty good vibe before you make the trade and know wether or not to do it. But of course, there are always people who will take advantage of that. I suggest you keep the value of your transactions low... If you are trying to sell a high value item, put it on ebay.

You should really reconsider selling those. They're too awesome to sell, and they won you a painting award! Come on, maybe you'll use them again? I know that I never sell any old warhammer, because usually I use it again. You could even make a diorama. Tau are cool, and I'll be collecting them soon, but you should keep those models.

Being an artist, I am not one to sit on "art". I currently dont see myself going back to jump troops. These guys are just rotting on a shelf. Plus, if I ever decide to go back to them, I will just paint new ones. They did their job, and won me some awards. Time to move on. Finally, if I do not keep refreshing my army, I cannot keep winning awards. Better to let some one else enjoy these guys. :)

my painting is just not up to it.

Practice man. Paint your models, then paint them black, then paint them again. Try to get your highlights as clean as possible, and never use more then a tiny pin drop of paint on the tip of your brush. Get a good brush. 2 dollar brushes just dont do it. You want a Kolinsky Sable 10-0 brush. That should help. Oh, and buy my videos!

Repainting your models over and over will fill them in and render them ugly and unplayable. But frankly, I no longer own any of the first models I purchased for 40k. I got them, painted them a few times, learned, then traded them to some one who wanted them for other stuff. So learn, practice, and when you are ready, get new ones, sell the old ones, and paint with confidence the army you intend on keeping and showing off for years.

Mech. Im thinking 3 squads of Fire Warriors, 2 squads of Pathinfderss, the rest suits and broadsides.

Ah. A piece of advice, since your going Mech and not Static, keep atleast one squad of the three to be full carbines and on a Devilfish, that way, it'll be able to move onto objectives and if in range of assault, run back and still be able to fire max range above 12"
