i didn't know that Dre created a video for this song. this song ministered to me back in the 90's when the street were BLAZING with the crack and drug epidemic. I too was slangin and bangin and life in the hood was as Biggie said "and everyday struggle" . This is one of the best hood songs EVER- gives me chills to hear it! The intro, "this is out future right here! If i have to die today for this lil African to have a future, THEN I AM DEAD MUTHAFUCKA" IS THE REALEST SHIT EVER PUT ON WAX!!!

@01289PUDNAN it does matter... thats why you got people sounding alike , thinking they're the originators LoL. A lot of the names I mentioned before a lot of the younger "rappers" never heard of. So it does matter. There's nothing wrong with sampling but don't keep regurgitating the same damn samples. There are other songs to sample...like BONE did with "Wind Blow".If everybody sounds alike ,we get the like of Wocka flocka lame and LiL wayne stupid shit! So yeah it matters.
i know what you mean i cant listen to anything these days its all commercial bullplop, but back in the day they used a sample it was somthing not like the shit that comes out these days lmao
The absolute realest shit on the LP. Do you understand how real this shit is? This is the shit niggas is going through for real. "Little ghetto boy, playing in the ghetto streets... Whatcha' gonna do when you grow up and have to face responsiblity?" Dre was a fuckin genius to sample Donny Hathway's "Little Ghetto Boy". In case you guys didn't know this. It's a classic and my all time favorite track on the LP. -True Hip Hop Junkie... Old school chick... I know my music.
True that...a lot of these younger folk don't know nothing about the people that all these producers sample.People like Donny Hathaway,Bootsy Collins,George Clinton,Parliment/Funkadelic,Sly & The Famly Stone,Rick James, Zapp/Roger Troutman,The Brand New Heavies, the S.O.S. Band,The Gap Band ,Earth wind and Fire,Yarbrough and Peoples,Mtume,Prince,Roberta Flack,Cameo and many many more.Ya Digg babygirl?
@CDMATHISSR you know it just like all these people who laugh at Dre for being in Worold Class Wreckin Crew but if Dre didn't come from where he did we all wouldn't have got a chance to listen to all these great tracks with these classic beats
actually i think it is daz. its nate in the video but it sometimes sounds more like daz and besides that all the music list his name under performers of it wit snoop and dre, not nate.
Daz is the one who does the chorus reggae style not the one who sings (that's not Nate Dogg either but an interpolation from Donny Hathaway's original Little Ghetto Boy, Nate only fakes it in the video)

This is my favorite song from the Dre and Snoop collaborations. It never got much attention or radio play, but epic none the less.
