Not a haiku, but written with that spare, evocative form in mind. It's about a park in Japan, beautifully designed 30 years or so ago, now mostly ignored while the suburbs around it fill with huge houses filled with electronics and people who are neither social nor familial--everything serving acquisition and a dreamlike march toward a shallow promise of a life of protection, comfort. Outside is threatening, neighbours are unknown... it's a bleak view, but not the only one, happily!
