@JP5466 ernie is what's called a live hands puppet and you're right it does take two puppeteers to work him. One puppeteer, in this case jim henson, works his head with his right hand and the puppet's left hand with his left hand. (This is why most puppets are left-handed) A second puppeteer works the puppet's right hand only. This is cleverly called "right-handing". (An exception is the swedish chef; jim did the head, frank oz did the hands) sorry for the long explanation, I love the muppets :P
