Actually I've been asking people the same sort of questions. I'm interested in getting into this hobby so I've been reading up on it thats how I know about Traxxas. I'm looking at the Traxxas Stampede VXL but its not for drifting its a truck for off roading. I would start with an electric because they have less maintinence. I'm not much help but I've gotten good info from many people on youtube so I would keep asking here. Also try stopping buy a hobby shop and asking whats good for beginners.

its electric. If it was nitro it would sound way different. Electrics can go really fast if you buy one made by traxxas or another big company. Electric's not just for for the little toy ones that go 5 mph.
