i wasn't as hooked on the vocals as with mikael stanne from dark tranquility or the vocalist from insomnium but i'm a fan now, he's great in his own right and the clean vocals are just amazing, deep and not emo vocals (i like emo but i don't like emo vocals in melodeath)...amazing the uplifting impact they have with just two clean lines in the whole song...

that guitar solo is also spectacularly metallicious

Thank God I'm not the only one that thinks that way. People complain about how his growls suck, and whine about how he shouldn't clean sing. But I say that his growls are quite monstrous in their own way and his clean singing is very unique, never have I heard a voice like his - it doesn't accommodate the generic "Core" vocals in fashion today, but that's not what Metal's about, they're unique and sound great.
