  • I just recently got a book of hers. It's all of her books in 1. Thanks for reading her poetry. I plan on reading her poetry in the near future. I have so many books.

  • I'm not even kidding...This was incredibly relaxing and I did fall asleep to this.....But.......The actual content of the poetry gave me some really bad dreams now that I think about it. I had really scary dreams of a man drowning in a sewer and someone getting stuck in a machine and getting torn in two....I think my mind took the poetry a little bit too literally, lol. But now I know not to listen to anything too "terrible". Quite to the contrary though your voice is lovely and put me to sleep.

  • Wow, this video is a masterpiece of whispering!!!

  • You read this very well. Thank you for doing this.

  • You should do some Andrea Gibson please!... I think I'd love you forever if you did haha

  • @MrMisfitToyz I will look those poems up and do some if I do another poetry video. :)

  • Beautiful read! Thanks for introducing me to Anne Sexton. Remarkable and astounding words. I need more :)

  • @luvinmyMAC I will try to make that happen. I plan on making more poetry reading videos in the future. :)

  • Admonitions makes me a little teary eyed. Fantastic!

  • @Neequu78 I loooooove that poem! :) Thank you for listening!

  • I would classify this as awesome!

  • @Neequu78 Thank you so much!!! :)

  • It's times like these that i wish i understood poetry! Honestly it's like another language to me lol. This video was very relaxing and you seem to really like poetry or at least this specific poet. It's awesome! Thank you for this i can't get enough of your videos:)

  • @WhisperingCanadian You're so cute! I'm just glad you listened. A new poet is like a new pair of shoes....sometimes they just don't fit a person. I really love Sexton, and I'm glad if I could introduce you to her poetry. :) That makes me happy! I'm also happy you could be relaxed! :) Take care!

  • I enjoyed it very much...she has such a wonderful way with words ;) My kind of poetry, really. You read it so beautifully, your voice is absolutely divine :)

  • @nicowhispers Thank you so much! Doesn't she, though?!? I LOVE it! :)

  • And P.S., "For My Lover" is hearbreaking. You read it with such tenderness and really bring out a real wistful, emotional nudity in it. Thank you for picking it.

  • @WhiskyWhispers Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. It means a lot coming from someone familiar with her poetry! :)

  • Wow, blue; I'm not worthy. What a delight to hear you read these. "Admonitions" kills me. I love the way she issues such haunting prescriptions, only to undercut her own authority...Only she's being ironic, so the force of her words is multiplied. Just masterful words - and such gorgeous delivery of them!

  • @WhiskyWhispers Your video really helped me rally my courage to actually READ Sexton. She is just...ugh.....I can't even describe how attached I am to her poetry. It just speaks to me and makes sense.

  • Oh. my. gosh! Beautiful poetry read so perfectly by you, with such feeling. I found that super relaxing! I must confess to never having heard of Anne Sexton but I love this style of poetry - with her words and with your fantastic voice, I could totally visualise everything you were describing. I will now go forth and immerse myself in her other poems. Thank you for this beautiful video AND for introducing me to something new! ;-)

  • @LushWhispers I am so glad I could be the one to introduce you to her poetry! I have read a whole thick book of Sexton's work. She just never gets old for me. Thank you for your sweet words! Coming from you, that means so much! Every time I see a new LushWhispers video in my inbox, it's like Christmas! Take care! :)

  • @whisperinginblue, you could read the phonebook and it would be the most relaxing thing ever.

I don't mean this in a " internet perv " kind-of way, more like a " I can't stop listening to your videos " kind of way, but you have the smoothest most sensual soft spoken voice I've ever heard !!!! And your reading of these poems was just exquisite.

  • @leftofzeroofficial I thank you so much! That is so sweet to say! I'm so happy you find my voice relaxing! :) I didn't take that in a pervy way....no worries! :)

  • @whisperinginblue you are quite welcome. I just wanted to make it known the comment was meant respectfully. By the way, I LOVE your piano video, you have a seriously talented sheep ! Looking forward to more of those for sure !

  • @leftofzeroofficial LOL.....I'm a total hack at piano, but I thank you. I enjoy playing. I don't know if I will make another video like that, but I'll keep your request in mind. :)

  • you must be a big Sylvia Plath fan as well? I adore her

  • @padlock23 I am :) She is very talented! Good choice! :)

  • I love Anne Sexton. It took me awhile to come around to her because I used to compare her to Sylvia Plath, but her poetry is wonderful within itself now.

  • @eb0wright I'm so glad! I really enjoy both Plath and Sexton, but I've read much more of Sexton's poetry.

  • I have had no internet for two weeks - so good to be back online and hear your voice again! I have missed you. :D

  • @YKWYA1 I'm glad you're back!! :)

  • @whisperinginblue And, I had never really payed much attention to Anne (apart from a few quotes), but now you have gotten me into her poetry - so thank you.

I hope all is well wherever you are ;)

  • you're really cute

  • @1123aka Awwww! You're really sweet!

  • As usual I just love listening to you, whether you're reading or roleplaying. I've never heard/read the poetry of Anne Sexton but I have to say... I like it!! Different but I like it. I find as I get older I have more of an appreciation for these things than I did in my youth!! Thank you for introducing me to something new and of course.... being great!

  • @WhisperAdmirer Awwww thank you, Admirer! You always make me feel so great! I'm so glad that I could expose you to her work. She is an amazing poet, IMO. :)

  • Thats really great can you do Dylan Thomas' Do Not Go Gentle sometime?

  • @pastthebrink Thanks! I will definitely try to do that one in my next poetry video. :) Thanks for the suggestion. I love that one!

  • Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful

  • @ElPalomaloUno Thank you so much! :)

  • truly enjoyed the poems...and yes she is honest!!! I loved it:)

  • @tashatasha77 Thanks so much! I find her poetry refreshing. :)

  • Have you read the Middlebrook biography or her daughter's account of her mother? Profoundly disturbing

  • @mgnewman1 I know a bit about her life and death, but have never read her biography or her daughter's account. I imagine they might be disturbing, and interesting. She was a unique lady. :)

  • Great reading. One of my favorite home state poets along with Plath and Frost

  • @cakes3sd I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Oooooh....I really enjoy them, as well! :)

  • That was beautiful. I looked up the poems and read them silently as you read them aloud. Sexton provides the type of exquisitely raw imagery that makes the reader feel like they've just completed a long, hard, and fulfilling trek through some laborious wonderland.

You didn’t use emphasis during the more profane lines, which would have tarnished the shamelessness of the poems; for some reason I had been expecting you to, and was glad when you didn't. Your reading was perfect. :)

    Thank you!

  • @TheBermuda I actually thought about how I would approach the profanity. Sexton can sometimes make the sacred seem profane (and the profane, sacred), so I decided to just read over those words like they were benign....it seemed to fit the poems better. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for listening!

  • Yay poetry! :D

  • @LordAlucardsbride :) Thanks so much for listening!

  • Just beautiful. More, please.

  • @robwaters63 I will try :) Thanks so much for listening!

  • I found it relaxing. Also gorgeous and heartbreaking at the end. That's what Anne Sexton requires, good job.

  • @ASMRama Thanks so much! I found myself getting a bit of a lump in my throat at times while reading....I learned that reading her aloud is different than reading her silently to myself. It's a much more emotional experience for me. Her pain is palpable.

  • Holy S**t... I liked it... but it no relaxation-videos material.

Also, I can't hear you say "tree" anymore without laughing.

  • @WrathOfWoten treeeeee tree tree treee..........;) It's intense. I agree. Glad you liked it! :)

  • Whew that is some pretty intense imagery!

  • @Pipe42 LOL! Sexton doesn't mess around....:)

  • More more more that put me to asleep your voice is beautiful. You could read anything and it would put me to sleep so smooth so relaxing. Thankyou.

  • @bubu8947 Awww! Thanks so much! I'm glad you find it relaxing! :)

  • Made me sleeepy. :)

  • @RENOGUY777 So glad to hear it! :)
