However: This very beautiful song by Anne-Marie David becomes boring already very fast. The better (and more successful) song of 1973 was the runner-up "Eres Tu" from Mocedades.

This is just wonderful. One of the best songs ever to appear in the Eurovision. It's sad to think that if a song like this were to appear in the contest today it probably wouldn't get past the semi-final, let alone win.

Too bad I can't speak French. The Eurovision winners from 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1977 are all simply outstanding. These are songs with "feelings." Severine's and Anne-Marie David's powerful performances, Vicky Leandros' emotional and somewhat melancholy style and Marie Myriam's softer "story-telling" style make their respective songs come to life perfectly.

Eurovision song contest contributions ever are those sung in french in the seventies AND France Gall in 1965 they look at me like I was an idiot. I´ts nice that there actually are people around with the same views on the issue.

This is just pure Eurovision class - for me the best straight song that has ever won. Great melody, pretty singer, soft French lyrics - brill. And with ABBA winning the next year with Waterloo of course, it was ESC at its peak! Superb!

And preceded by Vicki Leandros and Severine, those 4 years where definitely the high point of ESC. I can hardly bear to watch it these days because of the absolute dross served up, and even if a country came up with a song of songs there could be no guarantee of success due to the blatant political voting.
