  • 1:23 in the dub okita -san says " but master!"

in the original he says "saito-san!"

    dubs are so bad lol

  • This is one of the best OVAs I've seen in a long time! It definitely gets a five star rating from me! The fighting scenes are more realistic (not 100% though) than most other anime. They don't just stand there saying a bunch of "I'm stronger than you" crap, they go in and fight! The fighting is so fluid here

  • hmmpff... hhmppff

    *sob*

    :(

  • the only english dubb anime thatis only better is Samurai X. The english voices actaully matches the characters instead of having a gay girly voice on kenshin and okita which DOES NOT MATCH AT THE CHARACTERS AT ALL

  • Saito is the best !

  • Awesome. Those scenes where he is on the bridge are my favorite. Shows you the Battosai in his prime and why he was so feared.

  • @superfreak53 he is so badass.

  • so can someone tell me if this is from directors cut

    or...is it titled something else

i wanna buy the one with the extra scenes

  • @GarnetsSinfulMelody This is from the director's cut. The dvd is available on Amazon.

  • @alund1306 in this great quality?

  • @GarnetsSinfulMelody I got my copy off Amazon and it looks great. The only downside is, though it has great picture quality, when played in my PS3 it has the black bars on the side. But in a regular DVD player, the quality is still very good.

  • @alund1306 so u got it on bluray?

  • can someone answer me please lol

i need to know so i can buy it =]

  • damn i am wondering why is it so different..LMFAO

    is this the remastered version?

  • also is it me

    or is the ending...here

    a bit different.

for the hell of me i do not remember 3:30 and on LMFAO

  • where did u get this in such GREAT quality?

    i found crappy dark ones

can u link me to where u got them? pleaseee

  • So I had no life and took the time to look at the beautifully animated scene of Kenshin vs. Saito here in slow mo and noticed at around 1:54 (not exactly) Saito lost grip of his sword........I wonder why the animators drew that.

  • @Spartan039 It's actually somewhere between 1:53 and 1:54

  • @Spartan039 If you watch, he draws his Wakizashi, using a Nitou technique to defend against Himura's attacks, he drops his Wakizashi during the fight.

  • @Spartan039 its also strange in that Saitou Hajime was famous for being a master in Mizoguchi-ha Ittou Ryu, which literally means "Mizoguchi's One Sword School" so for him to use a nittou kamae is strange. Still, this series takes a few liberties with the people. Although quite a few are real.

  • truly a masterpiece!

  • This is the remastered version right?

  • AMAZING................the Legendary Battousai in his element!!

  • Battle of Toba-Fushimi of the Boshin War in wikipedia

  • RyoOkzk, thankyou so much for posting this original japanese version of this incredible anime. The japanese dialogue is so beautiful with this anime. Here you can hear the true emotion of the voice actors. The american voice actors have no true feelings and emotions when voice acting, thus the anime seems dull and devoid. Also, I hate when the american voice actors add stupid extra sounds in the scenes. Thanks for posting this and ignore the low view number. Keep up good work.

  • @juchi20

I think it's just the language. How do I know? Because I can understand Japanese. You know how they say "the original is better". Well that really holds true to this. In it's original language it holds the real meanings and emotions conveyed. But when it's translated, it loses that element. Thus making it make sense in English but not what it really means in Japanese.

  • @atech14 i know japanese

    and trust me

they change the dialogue which changes the damn meaning and moral

which is why i perfer Japanese. not cause i am Japanese

but English dubs usually destroy the deep, moving meaning to any show or anime

  • @xPrincessGarnetXVI

Oh please. Acting like dubbing is so deep in its infancy is ridiculous.

Subtitles are translated just the same way dubs are. I don't speak Japanese but I do know other languages. I've seen movies in said languages where the subs mess up or misinterpret what the character is saying. Often I can't even stand having subs on during those movies, they annoy so much. Obviously you can enjoy original japanese, but that simply not a reality for a lot of fans.

    Don't be a sub-snob.

  • @loner1878 excuse me loser

THE ENGLISH SUBS and english dialogue ARE DIFFERENT

only depending on WHO SUBBED IT! I have it on DVD an the english subs match the japanese dialogue perfectly. if u watch it online with subs, it IS the english translation subs with japanese dub. which the subs are WRONG with the japanese dub. so u need to rid your ignorance. im japanese and their wording is meaningful compared to english horrible dubs and translations. their translations is what I was aiming at. BAD

  • @xPrincessGarnetXVI

So english is essentially a horrible language compared to Japanese? Is that your argument here?

  • @loner1878 dude, can u NOT READ?!?!?!

I think u cannot. Their ways of translating Japanese dialogue SUCKS ASS.

    damn, go reread my comment.

  • @xPrincessGarnetXVI

Meh, take a joke. I agree the translations and dub voice acting in this OVA were sub par, but thats not the reality for all dubbed anime.

  • @loner1878 i never said all dubbed anime sucks >.>

full metal alchemist and black butler were WAY better

    in English

  • @xPrincessGarnetXVI

I agree with both those series :)

But I had been having the worse argument with this random person over the last week who just seemed fanatical about subs.

Can't we all just appreciate the fact that we're all anime fans, it doesn't matter how we watch it?

  • @loner1878 i will agree with you their loner cause we are all anime fans and we enjoy the series we love or going to watch in the future. PLUS BEST ENDING DRAMATIC AND HEART FELT ENDING EVER FOR OVA

  • @atech14

I have to agree the english VA's in this movie are not very good.

But I wouldn't know that in subs, I just hear people speaking Japanese. Obviously you can really enjoy the original as you understand the language. But what I don't get is how some people seem to think subs aren't translated. Wierd, huh?
