  • There is actually evidence of Afrocks staying with the hatchlings for a couple of days before moving on.

Though to my knowledge, this was proven after this episode was made.

  • To answer Kels question... FOOLED YOU GUYS THERE WAS NO QUESTION

  • Can someone help me out? I want to get a snake but I dont know what kind. Im looking for one 3-4 feet long that is pretty docile because I will be holding it alot. So far I've only rlly thought about a ball python but I was just trying to get other ideas. Msg me or email me @ wboggs11@yahoo.com

  • @ifAwsome

Get a Honduran Milk snake or jungle carpet python

  • @ifAwsome Kenyan Sand Boas or Children's Python

  • i currently have a juvenile corn snake & it is awesome!....i was watching this video & suddenly got interested in the WESTERN HOGNOSE SNAKE......i was wondering if i would be able to keep both the corn snake & the hognose in the same 30 gallon tank? my main concern was if they would fight?

  • @DGK12798 you shouldnt keep 2 difrent breeds in the same tank

  • i currently have a juvenile corn snake & it is awesome!....i was watching this video & i was really interested in the WESTERN HOGNOSE SNAKE. I was wondering if it would get along with my corn snake in one cage or would i have to get a seperate cage for it? & by the way the cage is a 30 gallon.....would they both fit in it?

  • to brian i want a carbon python how much dose the snake cost it is the write snake for me i like that size snake.

  • YES! Finally a video from people that (appear) to know about their snakes. Everyone else is ball python this, ball python that.., but you guys at least mention the boas, and I agree that boas have a better disposition than the ball pythons.

  • @d3th4u2 Ball Pythons are the best.Thanks, Brian(sbtv)

  • @nikesk8er10 ball pythons are overrated and too common

  • @ arachnidsrulz12 You're aiming a bit to high there, they dont breed venomous snakes, but I know they breed emerald tree boas but i'm sure if you look around you should find a reptile breeders expo near you that does sell vipers, rattlers stuff like that hope I helped =)

  • hey do you breed venomous snakes like viper?

do you have any emarlad tree boa or red forest python/boa?

  • ball pythons!!!

  • i like corn snakes they are very colorful and very cool they r imbetween being wild like ribbon snakes and to docile like a ball python that sits in your hand the cornsnake moves enough but still are calm and curious

  • As much as I love Corn snakes and Ball Pythons I think the best first snake for a anyone would be a Garter snake.

  • I think sand boa, ball pythons, corn snake, milk snake, and carpet python are the best snakes in the world with......... Sailfin dragon and Frilled dragon

  • people have cobras with venom and you have to take out the fangs witch is cruel

  • Do they sell cobras as pets if they take their venom out?

  • i think they can keep producing that venom? i might be wrong but just because you milk a snake once i dont think that means that they aren't venomous anymore.

dont quote me though, i might be wrong

  • Yea I dont know either lol when they sell pet Skunks I heard they remove their stink odor by doing surgery. I wonder if they remove the venom gland by doing surgery on the cobra? This maybe one of the reasons we don't see or hear of many cobras as pets because their more deadly than a Python or Boa etc because of their venom lol.

  • @yoda55 they just get grow the fangs back in like a day so yeah i like cobras but i wouldt buy one and die trying 2 pick it up and its crule taking the fangs out and there false fangs so they cant grow back

  • actually its called venomoiding which is a surgery which removes the venom glands not the fangs because the fangs do grow back but if the surgery is done correctly the glands will not grow back the problem with voiding it that its often done wrong and the glands grow back so most hot keepers say that even if its a void handle it like you would if it was hot.

  • if you guys think the jaguar carpet/jaguar carpet mix was cool, check out the jaguar carpet/tiger carpet, that snakes one of the gnarliest "designer breeds" or morphs iv ever seen

  • i thought they said bitchin, BITCHIN!

  • heyy

ive just been looking into getting a carpet python, and the reptile shop i go to say they are very vecious and bite all the time.

so she wont get any in for me.

    is this true?

    cos i really like them

  • They have the reputation of being very nippy, so that's why you should get one as a baby and tame it down so that when it's an adult it won't be so nippy.

I have a Jungle Carpet Python, she's a few years old, over 6 ft long, and she's friendlier than my cats! Whenever I get her out of her cage, she coils up on my lap and just lays there for about 10 minutes before wanting to explore the living room. So all in all, it depends on how often you get it out and the animal's individual personality.

  • Did he say a "carpet python"? It's either that or a Cali King im going to get next. God i love snakes/reptiles.

  • as i recall the King Cobra is the only snake that will actually guard it's young, but only up until they hatch from the eggs, then it's a Happy Meal and out the door

  • OMG THANK YOU for suggesting a Western Hognose!!!! My little guy was my first snake 10 years ago and he is the best snake I've ever kept.

Also agree on the boas... especially since they are generally better eaters than most ball pythons.

  • I found a pet snake it was a snow and it endid up to be a coarl snow

  • i want a corn but everyones got one,

their kind of average, kind of

  • Get a macklotts python. they are sweet.

  • Yeah, I got a macklotts too. Babies are nippy, but adults are very nice.

  • Hey brian I know you got alot of racks for your snakes and thats alot of heat tape so whats your electricity bill ?

  • he justs sets his room to a certain tempfor certain snakes without heat tape

  • man u breed morphs of carpet python we dont even have in australia

  • @SnakeBytesTV hello , i was wondering the orice of your ball pythons

  • Whats the average price for a corn snake? I'm a beginner, so I'm looking for a nice calm snake.

  • They start at about $15 and go up from there. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • Great help on deciding all though im stuck between a corn snake and a king snake, this will be my first snake.

  • I think the corn is a better starter. Either way you'll be happy:) Let me know if I can help, Brian(Sbtv)

  • I loved the baby spotted pythons....So cute!

We have an adult male called Ozzy Hosepipe (Oz H for short) He is beautiful and a wonderful and fun pet...

  • That's an awesome name:) Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • are jaguars legal in australia?

  • As far as I know they are. I'm pretty sure I've e-mailed with a few people that had them. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • If I looking for tame snakae which you will suggest? Can email me?Me is beginner

  • The two beginner snakes are corn snakes and ball pythons. Corn snakes get quite long and thin and are very calm, Ball pythons don't get as long, And get quite fat which'll cost more to feed and are also very calm. If you want a cheaper docile pet, The cornsnake is your best pick.

  • hey ive never seen any of you guys show anything about the brazilian rainbow boas, do you have any?

  • We have a bunch. They've been in the show a few times, but nothing a lot on them. I'll get them in the show. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • :( None of you showed the milksnake. Great beginner snakes. Most beautifullest of all coloubrids.

I have a honduran tangerine, and I absolutly love him.

  • They are incredible animals. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • I want a pet snake :) but my mom wouldn't like seeing a snake eat a mice haha, so did you said that a garden snake doesn't eat them? If so are they easy to take care of and where can I buy one? Thanks!

  • Yeah, garters feed on fish and worms, so they are really easy to care for. We sell them, so let me know if I can help out, Brian(Sbtv)

  • arent boa constrictors good start snakes? grow too big ? who about the feed and space ?

  • Boas are great animals, not always the best starter snake because they get big:) You have to just do your research on them and see if you can handle it. Thanks Brian(Sbtv)

  • thanks...i gess they grow too big...another question : do the mixed breeds and mutations show signs of genetic problems or diseases?...ball phytons look awesome too

  • Normally there is no problem with mixing animals and health. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • i just got a white and black snake today and it bites when i try to take him out?

  • how do u stop a snake from bitein u when u go to them out from the cage?

  • You can always wear gloves to take it out of it's cage. It'll get used to it and then it should stop biting. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • how do you make super snakes? like how you made to super jaguar carpets. can you make super ball pythons and super boas etc. or is there certain snakes only.

  • Supers are the dominant gene in a co-dominant snake. So it has to start by being a co-dominant gene to make a super. Hope this helps, Brian(Sbtv)

  • hey brian if im gonna start whit a snake my pick will be a corn snake and i will go bigger what do u say?

  • That's a great way to start off. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • Do western hognose snakes most of the time burrow in their substrate

  • A lot of them do like to burrow in their substrate. It makes them feel safe. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • Hey you guys I have a quick question?

What's the best way to talk your parent/guardian into getting a CRT or DGB. My moms just concerned about Salmonella (I told her that you have more of a chance of getting that from eating a raw egg salad sandwich then from keeping any reptile)and constrictions. I've been doing research on both for about 3 months (Since most websites say to do research on any new reptile before purchasing) and I've been saving money for everything and creating worksheets.

  • I agree with you and it sounds like you have done your research. It's hard to convince someone that doesn't like reptiles. it took me a long time to convince my mom when I was young. I hope it all works out. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • umm......... Am geting a albino kingsnake from a breeder FOR MY FIRST SNAKE and he said it would 8 feet long is thIS true?

    -COREY

  • must be a boa kings dont get that big

  • Yeah, Kings max out at about 5 foot. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • How much is a fancy ball python like a Spider? I am thinking one later on. I heart for snakes. I have an albino corn snake and a senior ball python (regular) which I got her when she was 4 months old. I am also thinking of breeding her with another ball python, maybe a ghost or something like that. What do you think is a good pick is to breed my ball python with?

  • I think Spiders are a great Ball mutation. They sell for about $350. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • i meant like do u use zoomed, or viper, eco earth, (ect).

Also do u feed the hognose's pinkys and do u scent them. Will they take it?

  • We use Flexwatt heat tape, but zoomed is a great company. We do feed our hogs frozen thawed pink and they take them with no problem. Thanks, Brian(SBtv)

  • hognoses dont make good starter pets. they're poisonous.

  • The are sometimes considered rear fanged (not by most people though), but there bite isn't even as bad as bee sting and they rarely bite. I have been working with them for 20 years and have only been bit once and it didn't even do anything. Hope this clears it up a little for you. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)

  • hey brian,

im probablt getting a western hognose and im keeping him in those plastic tubs. Would i need a heat pad under the tub? If so what company do u use for your hognose's?

  • I would get a under the tub heater for sure. Not sure what you mean by what company. Let me know and I'll answer for you. Thanks, Brian(Sbtv)
