@Tj1056 if you look at the radiator from the side the intercooler sit on top or bottom form the looks of it in his case it sits on the bottom, the intercooler and radiator sit in a V form so both get the same amount of air... in a rx7 makes best of both worlds useing a big intercooler and still have lots of air flow to the radiator so there is no over heating, also runs shorter pipe for the turbo setup (reduction in lag) vs longer pipes..

the most interesting thing about this engine is that it is stockport. Guys with streetport pushing closing timing on intake ports too late, engine is peaky like hell, lacking bottom end etc. Amazing what stockport can do.

It can make 500 hp easily out of a 1.3 liter and can last for a very long time with a good tune as per my own setup. Comparing your 7 liter V8 to the 1.3 you should be making 2800 hp with yours. But sadly no.

Yes they have proven themselves to break, run low on compression, overheat, flood, get poor fuel economy, and low amounts of power.
Mine makes 493 to the wheels on e85 and has been doing so for over a year now. It still runs strong and gets decent gas mileage for being heavily tuned and Oh is it ever so fun on the streets. Maybe you should pull out that forbidden taboo V8 and stick back in what it's mother originally gave it, A 13b.

If you think that tuning a rotary is more difficult than swapping out entire drivetrains, changing out cooling, fuel systems, integrating electrical systems, and mating everything else from a domestic powertrain into an import car, you are more stupid than I thought.
Most of the people that do the swaps also road race so you are wrong on both accounts. So you are a pretty much a loser all around.

a rotary motor is much smaller so it can be located farther behind the front tires which helps give the car a 50/50 weight balance like the rx7 has.
the weight of a 1.3L roatary is much lighter than a even a small block v8 with turbo(s) or withought.

I can show you with proof that you are wrong. LS1 with T-56 will located the weight further back, and give the car more of a balance than the rotary with T-5How about you prove your point to me.

how unless you changed physics and can magicly move the engine into the fire wall and into the cockpit of the car.
notice how there is only very few v8 with a 50/50 weight distrobution and the only one i know for a fact that is is the new corvette.

no i wish i had a link for it but ill do some math for this guy. ok this car had a dyno of 769hp to the WHEEL and this car weighs only 2300lbs. do the math thats 2.99hp for every pound. thats insane. oh by the way its on a stock transmission and yes it can hold the power. so the 9.85 at 30lbs is way possible. this car at 25psi ran a 10.5. type in tearbo and see

wow...these guys have been arguing for over a month now. They have become best friends. Seriously though...stick with the rotary..why would you take out what is special to the rx7 and put in an american lump of metal? It's like taking the Corvette's engine out and replacing it with the 13b. Rotaries are fun to tune, got an awesome sound, and no other engine like it in the world. KEEP THE ROTARIES ALIVE!!!!!!

That crap is the legendary Rotary motor. If you have a bridge ported motor, even at idle the thing sounds beastly. But when you step on the gas, that is when it comes alive. No other sound like it.

No, the weed whacker sounds nothing like the rotary. Trust me I have a weed wacker too and it doesnt even sound like it. So are you calling racing engines like the cosworth 2.5 liter v8 a weed wacker? It produces 800 hp at 20,000 rpms. Don't bash motors. Love every one of them for their own designs and engineering. Even I like the corvette V8. But I just dont like the craftsmanship of american motors. Too cheap in comparison to Jap motor qualities.

I don't get a better feeling that going to the local tracks and beating them in my Rotary powered FD. Unlike you I don't use/rely on a V8 to beat another V8. My little 1.3 liter rotary does just fine. Keep the Rotaries alive.

No...I mean the real race tracks. Mazda uses the new Renesis rotary engine to power their F3 chassis race cars for campaign races. Hp per liter wise the Rotary wins hands down. It can make 500 hp easily out of a 1.3 liter and can last for a very long time with a good tune as per my own setup. Comparing your 7 liter V8 to the 1.3 you should be making 2800 hp with yours. But sadly no.

Have you heard the Legendary 787b at racing speeds? That is pure rotary heaven sound. The only sound that is as good or better is the Pagani Zonda F. Sounds like a fully tuned F1 machine. You might want to get your ears checked aji8.

Actually I feel sorry for you for your introverted thinking. The rotary is what's best and the strongpoint of the Rx7. I've never been a big fan of American cars. Cheap quality, horrible design, Body and engine wise. Poor craftsmanship, and the sounds are horrible. Im a mechanic for over 15 years and american cars are a hack to work on. They are too cheap when compared to their foreign fellows like the Euros and Japs. Just my two cents.

You'd probably do the same too if you couldn't get what you wanted from your "v8". The rotaries have proven it self year after year. The only reason why Mazda is the only one who ever and still is developing this engine is because they have the know how and the balls to do it.

LOL...I could easily tune the rotary and no I could not get it to do what I wanted it to do. I wanted it to put out lots of power, be streetable, and reliable. It couldn't even do one of those things let alone all three at once.
Yes they have proven themselves to break, run low on compression, overheat, flood, get poor fuel economy, and low amounts of power.

Mine makes 493 to the wheels on e85 and has been doing so for over a year now. It still runs strong and gets decent gas mileage for being heavily tuned and Oh is it ever so fun on the streets. Maybe you should pull out that forbidden taboo V8 and stick back in what it's mother originally gave it, A 13b.
