@schroeder666 If you think that, please go away. I think the lisp is cute! And it's like they say "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." You're troublesome.
Everyone talks about when the "British Invasion" hit the music scene in America. Why never the "Japanese Invasion"?? .......why cuzza Pearl Harbor??? America's MISSING OUT!!
Then again, I remember when I thought I was the only one who listened to Deathcab For Cutie. Then they got popular and every single person knew them. Suddenly they were that secret and special thing that only I knew about.
Maybe it's best that this music isn't so internationally popular. I think it would lose something. Maybe I'm nuts for saying so.
Because they still speak English. I'd love to see more mainstream asian artists here, but I doubt people would want to learn a whole different language just to understand them.
@BeautyPrettySociety - It's not just because of Japanese. Americans just don't like jpop. In fact they find it easy to mock because they think it's annoying and weird. Kinda like really early PERFUME and stuff. When they hear jpop, they think "annoying". I did too. I was almost creeped out. And I started getting why jpop is often really awesome music! If I share it with people, they just say I'm horny for asians. Hahaha. .......I mean that's true, but it's not why I love jpop!
@dogeymon83 I guess youre right,, i never thought about that. I've been into japanese music since i was 20, im 28 now. LOL. My favorites are aira mitsuki, MEG, Perfume, capsule, aural vampire, mihimaru gt, K, alan, denki groove, ayumi hamasaki, globe, ymo, etc. I'm just dying to got check out a show or two in acutal japan!
@dogeymon83 Do you think techno is still an underground thing? I feel as if we melded it into something else and modern upcoming bands are taking techno and turning it into their own genre.
@Nerdswhorock12 - Hehe, yeah, well I probably shouldn't have sounded so ethnocentric of them. I'm an individualist after all. Truly, I think only a handful of j-pop acts would be interesting to bring over to America. But a lot of them ARE a bit on the creepy side.
Actually Yasukata Nakata did, but I'd rather listen to Aira over L*** G*** any day (sorry I won't type her name). Aira-chan sites Yasutaka-san as one of her influences.
Didnt anyone else notice the right corner of her mouth is always upwards? Thats cute

Omg, yes exactly. I really wish that that would get more recognition, people here really ARE missing out on great music. :)

@dogeymon83 Its because Japan realizes that they are too good for America. Which indeed they are.
